1954-2517ATTEST: RESOLUTION NO. 2517 A RESOLTTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM CHANGING THE NAME OF FERNWOOD WAY IN TRACT NO. 1914 TO IRVING PLACE. WHEREAS, on the 6th day of July, 1954, the City Planning Commission did adopt Resolution of Intention No. 17 Series 1954 -55 finding and determining that there are two or more streets within the City of Anaheim having names so similar as to confuse the public, and declaring its in- tention to adjust, alter or change such names so as to best serve the public convenience; and WHEREAS, said Resolution of Intention did fix the 23rd day of August, 1954 at the hour of 2 :00 o'clock P.M., at the City Hall, as the time and place of a public hearing to consider the matter of adjusting, altering or changing the name of the street hereinabove mentioned, and R. W. Mungall, Secretary of said Planning Commission, was there- upon authorized and directed to give notice of said hearing by posting a copy of said. Resolution in at least three (3) public places along the street proposed to be affected, to wit, Fernwood Way; and said Resolution directed that said posting be completed at least ten (10) days before the date set for the hearing; and WHEREAS, after holding and conducting said public hearing the City Planning Commission did find that there are two streets in the City of Anaheim with names so similar that they will result in confusion to the public, to wit: Fernwood Way in Tract No. 1914, and Fernwood Street in Tract No. 1948, and that the name of Fernwood Way in Tract No. 1912 should be changed to Irving Place to avoid such confusion; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has recom- mended to the City Council that the name of Fernwood Way in Tract No. 1912- be changed to Irving Place. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the findings and recommendations of the City Planning Commission be, and they are hereby, ap- proved, and that the name of Fernwood Way in Tract No. 1914 be changed to Irving Place to avoid confusion to the public, and that henceforth and hereafter said street shall be known and designated as "Irving Place."
