1954-2501RESOLUTION NO, 2501 A :ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY AS THE PL',ACRN,TIA AVENUE n0. 2 ANNEXATION; DE,T,CRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY 50 PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim dic, on the loth day of August 19 54 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commissiot of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un- inhabited territory, and said petition contained a descriptioxt of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- received that at the time of the filing and receipt of saiu. petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one- fourth (4) of the area and not less than one- fourth of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess- ment roll; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- ports received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un- inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to wit: A tract of land being a portion of the NW 1 /4 of Section 13, Township L South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an angle point in the existing Anaheim City Limits line as established by the Placentia Avenue Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 25, as passed by Ordinance No. 801 on July 22, 1952 and filed with the Secretary of State on August 22, 1952, said point being located at the intersection of the easterly right -of -way line of Placentia Avenue (60 feet wide) and the easterly prolongation of the southerly right -of -way line of Vermont Avenue (60 feet wide); thence, 1. Northerly along said easterly right -of -way line of Placentia Avenue and said existing Anaheim Cit Limits line to the northerly line of the SW 10 acres of NW 1/ of the NW 1 /L, Section 13, TLS, R1OW, SBBM; thence, 2. Easterly along said northerly line to the NE corner of said 10 acre parcel; thence, 3. Southerly along easterly line of said 10 acre parcel to the SE corner of said 10 acre parcel said point also being the most northeasterly corner of the NW 10 acres of SW 1/L of the NW 1 /4 of Section 13, TLS, R1OW, SBBM; thence, L. Continuing southerly along easterly line of said NW 10 acres of SW 1/4 of the NW 1/L of Section 13, TLS, R1OW, SBBM to the SE corner of said 10 acre parcel; thence, 5. Westerly along southerly line of said 10 acre parcel to the said easterly right -of -way line of Placentia Avenue; thence, 6. Northerly along said easterly right -of -way line of Placentia Avenue to the point of beginning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF ANAHEII: That such proposed annexation be designated as "PLACENTIA AVENUE N0_ 2 ANNEXATION," and that notice of such pro- posed annexation be and the same is hereby given; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 14th day of September 19 51 at the hour of ,8:40 o'clock P. .M., at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Ana heim, be and the sane is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within said terri- tory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such pro- posed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, -2- in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Ana- heim, to wit: The Placentia Courier That such publication shall be com»leted at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address s=zown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk: That in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
