1954-2380RI.SOLUTION NO. 2380 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL QF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY AS THE wJsT LA p4MA NO- 3 ANNEXATION; DEUCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR: AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE 1'THY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the lath day of April 19 5 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro- posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commission of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un- inhabited territory, and said petition contained a description of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- o ores received that at the time of the filing and receipt of sail. petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one fourth (4) of the area and not less than one- fourth of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess- ment roll; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- ports received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un- inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to wit: A tract of land lying within the N 1/2 of the NE 1 /4 of Section 8, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the existing City Limits line of the City of Anaheim said point being the NE corner of the Allison Honer Annexation to the City of Anaheim adopted by Ordinance No, 837, February 24, 1953; thence, Easterly continuing along the existing City Limits line and the South right -of -way line of La Palma Avenue a distance of 1980 feet, more or less, to the East line of that certain parcel described as the E 1/2 of W 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1 /4 Section 8, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence, Southerly 1290 feet, more or less, along said East line to the South line of the N 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of Section 8, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence, Westerly 1980 feet, more or less, along said South line to the SE Corner of the said Allison Honer Annexation and the existing City Limits line; thence, Northerly along said existing City Limits line and the East line of said Allison Honer Annexation to the point of beginning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF ANAHEIM: That such proposed annexation be designated as "WEST LA PALMA NO, 3 ANNEXATION," and that notice of such pro- posed annexation be and the same is hereby given; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2th day of May 19 534 at the hour of _8 :Q0 o'clock P .M., at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Ana heim, be and the same is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within said terri- tory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such pro- rosed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, -2- in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Ana heim,,to wit: The Placentia Courier That such publication shall be corn meted at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified. AND 3E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address s_iown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his narne and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk: That in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors- -of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
