1954-2360RESOLUTION NO. co o A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF INHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, J. P. Lemons, A. B. Cox, W. F. Schimming, Crell (iJilld.ebrand, by T. L. Beatty, Herman H. Freese and Earl L. Miller have filed with the City Council a Written request, requesting the consent of the City Council of the City of Anaheim to the commence- ment of proceedings for the annexation of the hereinafter de- scribed territory to the City of Anaheim, and stating that said territory is inhabited territory and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that it would be to the advantage and benefit of the City of Anaheim and to the qualified electors residing within said territory to permit the above named proponents to commence proceedings for the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim, upon the con- ditions hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, said request has been referred to the City Planning Commission and its report and recommendations received recommending the granting of consent to commence proceedings for annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the consent of the City Council be, and it is hereby, given to said proponents to commence proceedings for the annexation of the hereinafter described territory to the City of Anaheim, upon the following conditions: First: That the proposal for annexation of said terri- tory to the City of Anaheim shall be submitted to and reported upon to the proponents by the Boundary Commission of the County of Orange, with respect to the definiteness and certainty of pro- posed boundaries. Second: That no petition be circulated for the annexat- ion of said territory until after notice of intention to circulate such petition has been published as required by law and a copy of such notice and an affidavit of publication has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim within ten (10) days after the date of publication of said notice, and a resolution has been adopted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim acknowledging receipt of said notice and approving the circulation of said petit- ion. Third: That the circulation of any petition for the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim shall not be commenced until twenty -one (21) days after the publication of said notice of intention to circulate the same. The boundaries of the territory for which proceedings are proposed to be commenced for the annexation thereof to the City of Anaheim are described as follows: -1- A parcel of land being all of Section 17 and portions of Sections 7, 8, 9, 16, 18, 19, 20 and 21, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the existing Anaheim City Boundary Line said point also being the most southeasterly right -of -way corner of Loara Street (40 feet wide) and Lincoln Avenue; thence, 1. Westerly 2,000 feet, more or less, along said existing Anaheim City Boundary line and the southerly right -of -way line of said Lincoln Avenue to an angle point; thence, 2. Northerly 690 feet, more or less, along the said exist- ing Anaheim City Boundary Line to an angle point; thence, 3. Westerly 660 feet, more or less, along the said exist- ing Anaheim City Boundary Line to an angle point; thence, 4. Continuing westerly 330 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to the northerly right -of -way line of said Lincoln Avenue and 629 feet, more or less northerly therefrom measured along a line bearing S. 0° 08' 36 E. to the westerly line of that 14.25 acre parcel of land owned by Marjorie H. Cook, re- corded in Book 1120, Page 180 of Official Records of Orange County California, Nov. 18, 1941; thence, 5. Southerly 629 feet, more or less, along said westerly line of 14.25 acre parcel to the said northerly right -of -way line of Lincoln Avenue; thence, 6. Westerly 3670 feet, more or less, along the said northerly right -of -way line of Lincoln Avenue and its westerly prolongation across Brookhurst Street (60 feet wide) to the most northwesterly right -of -way corner of said Brookhurst Street and said Lincoln Avenue; thence, 7. Southerly 5340 feet, more or less, along the westerly right -of -way line of said Brookhurst Street to the most south westerly right -of -way corner of said Brookhurst Street and Ball Road (60 feet wide); thence, 8. Easterly 6,660 feet, more or less, along the southerly right -of -way line of said Ball Road to its intersection with the southerly prolongation of the easterly right -of -way line of said Loara Street; thence, 9. Northerly 5,280 feet, more or less, along the said easterly right -of -way line of Loara Street to the point of beginning.
