A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT
PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE
CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IM..
PROVEMENT, TO WIT: FURNISHING AND INSTALLING
THREE ELECTRICALLY DRIVEN AND TWO ENGINE DRIVEN,
DEEP WELL, TURBINE TYPE PUMPING UNITS, WORK
ORDER NO. 1275, AND APPROVING THE DESIGN, PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS THEREFOR, AUTHORIZ.•
ING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT
IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS,
AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require
the construction and completion of a public improvement in
the City of Anaheim, to wit:
Furnishing and installing three (3) electrically
driven deep well, turbine type pumping units, and
two (2) engine driven, deep well, turbine type
pumping units on La Palma Avenue, between Citron
and West Streets, Work Order No. 1275;
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed Quinton
Engineers, Ltd. of Los Angeles, California to prepare de.
tailed designs, plans and specifications for the construction
of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, Quinton Engineers, Ltd. has prepared said
detailed design and detailed plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improve—
ment and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the plans and
specifications for said public improvement above mentioned
are in accordance with good engineering practice and are
adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the City of
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the
purposes for which they are intended and that the plans and
specifications are adequate for the construction of said
public improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the plans and specifications for
said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described
be, and the same are hereby approved and adopted as prepared
by Quinton Engineers, Ltd.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve.»
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said design,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by
Quinton Engineers, Ltd. and hereby approved, and such addenda
or modifications thereto as may be approved prior to the
awarding of bids therefor; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to publish a notice according to law inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials
and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water and: performing all_.work necessary to
construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accordance with said detail, design and detailed plans
and specifications as prepared by Quinton Engineers, Ltd.,
-the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described,
and fixing the day of December 1953, at the
hour of 8 :00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the open.
ing of said bids at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall
in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be published
twice, the first of which publication shall be at least ten
(10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids,
and that said publications shall be at least fivei(5) days
apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction
and installation and completion of said public improvement
hereinabove mentioned and described, in accordance with the
plans and specifications prepared by Quinton Engineers, Ltd,,
the notice inviting sealed proposals, this Resolution and
all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws
of the State of California, and shall be required to post
bonds and the insurance in the amounts and within the time
required by law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed
proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by

AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim approved
and signed said resolution on the 8th day of December, 1953.
