A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE PURCHASE OF CAST IRON PIPE AND
CAST IRON FITTINGS IS NECESSARY FOR THE
WATER DEPARTMENT AND APPROVING THE
SPECIFICATIONS THEREOF, AND DIRECTING
PUBLICATION OF NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR
THE FURNISHING OF SAID PIPE AND FITTINGS.
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that public interest and necessity require the purchase and
acquisition of cast iron pipe and cast iron fittings for use
by the Water Department of the City in the amounts herein-
after specified; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that
the specifications prepared and submitted to the City
Council by the Superintendent of the Light and Water Depart-
ment for said pipe and fittings are adequate for the purpose
and should be approved; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that notice should be published inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of said pipe and fittings in the amounts
hereinafter specified and in accordance with the specifica-
tions prepared by the Superintendent of the Light and Water
Department and hereby approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that all cast iron water pipe and
fittings hereinafter specified shall conform to the specifi-
cations therefor prepared by the Superintendent of Light and
Water Department of the City of Anaheim and hereinabove ap-
proved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there shall be pur-
chased for the Water Department of the City of Anaheim cast
iron pipe and fittings in the following approximate quantities
and the following sizes and descriptions:
ITEM I 7,000 feet of 12 inch cast iron pipe.
ITEM II 4,000 feet of 10 inch cast iron pipe.
ITEM III 25,000 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe.
ITEM IV 10,000 feet of 4 inch cast iron pipe.
IVEM V 25,000 pounds of cast iron fittings.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to publish a notice
in the Anaheim Bulletin, in the manner and form as required
by law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said
pipe and fittings above described and notifying all prospective
bidders that said sealed proposals will be received at the
Office of the City Clerk in the City of Anaheim not later than
8:00 o'clock P.M. of the 8th day of September, 1953; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said notice shall be
published on the 28th day of August, 1953 and the 3rd
day of September, 1953.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved
by me this 25th day of August, 1953.

was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Anaheim held on the 25th day of
August, 1953, by the following vote of the members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Wisser, Heying and Van Wagoner
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Pearson and Boney.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City
of Anaheim signed and approved said Resolution on the 25th
day of August, 1953.
