1953-2207RESOLUTION NO. 2207 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF BOULEVARD STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, Section 465, Subdivision "B," of the California Vehicle Code provides that local authorities in their respective jurisdiction shall have authority to place and maintain or cause to be placed and maintained such traffic signs as may be necessary to indicate and to carry out the provisions of the California Vehicle Code and local traffic ordinances, or to regulate, warn or guide traffic; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 3213, provides that the City Council shall by resolution determine and designate the character of all official warning and direction signs and signals; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that to eliminate traffic hazards and promote the safety and welfare of citizens and residents of the City of Anaheim boulevard stop signs should be established and maintained on all streets inter- secting Center Street between West Street and Manchester Boulevard in the City of Anaheim; namely On Walnut Street, south side of Center Street On Cherry Street, south side of Center Street On Thalia Street, both sides of Center Street On Villa Place, north side of Center Street and that stop signs should also be established and maintained at the following intersections in the City of Anaheim: Villa Place and Lincoln Avenue a stop sign should be placed on Villa Place, south side of Lincoln Avenue; Citron Street and South Street stop signs should be placed on Citron Street, both sides of South Street; Lemon Street and Vermont Avenue stop signs should be placed on Lemon Street, both sides of Vermont Avenue. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place and maintain stop signs at the locations hereinabove set forth; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the stop signs so established and maintained shall conform to the regulations of the California Vehicle Code as to size and design.
