his wife, are the owners of that certain parcel of land
situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State
of California, described as follows, to -wit:

sion, in the City of Anaheim, County of
Orange, State of California, as shown on
a Map made by Wm. Hamel and filed for
record in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County, California,
described as follows:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
AND ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
REQUIRED FOR PUBLIC USE.
Beginning at the Northeasterly corner of
said Lot 39; thence Southerly along the
Easterly line thereof 175.7 feet; thence
Westerly parallel with the Southerly line
of said Lot, 1184.3 feet to the Westerly
line thereof; thence Northerly along said
Westerly line 500.42 feet to the North
line of said Lot, and thence East along
said North line 1225.8 feet to the point
of beginning.
EXCEPTING therefrom the Easterly 250 feet
(the Westerly line of which is parallel
with the Westerly line of Citron Street);
WHEREAS, said property is needed by the City of
Anaheim for public use and purposes; and
WHEREAS, said Cortez R. Hoskins and Leonora Hoskins,
his wife, have offered to sell_, transfer and convey said
parcel of land to the City of Anaheim in consideration of the
sum of Sixty -five Hundred Dollars 06500.00) in cash; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that it would be to the advantage and for the best interest
of the City of Anaheim to acquire the real property herein
above described for public use and purposes, and that the
offer of the owners thereof to sell said property to the City
for the above mentioned sum is not disproportionate to the
fair market value of said property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the offer of Cortez R. Hoskins
and Leonora Hoskins, his wife, to sell and transfer the real
property and premises above described, subject to all taxes
for the fiscal year 1953 -54, a lien not yet payable, and
subject to covenants, conditions, restrictions and public
utility easements of record or as shown by endorsements on
the recorded map of the subdivision above described, to the
City of Anaheim for the sum of Sixty -five Hundred Dollars
($6500.00) cash, lawful money of the United States, be and
the same is hereby accepted, and that the deed tendered by
said Cortez R. Hoskins and Leonora Hoskins, his wife, is
hereby accepted subject to the conditions hereinafter speci-
fied; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City
of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized for and on be-
half of the City of Anaheim to sign escrow instructions for
the acquisition and purchase of said real property and
premises, and to enter into an escrow with the owners of
said property at the Title Insurance and Trust Company of
Santa Ana, California; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be,
and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay from the Park-
ing Meter Fund into escrow, at the Title Insurance and Trust
Company at Santa Ana, California, the sum of Sixty -five Hundred
Dollars ($6500.0), lawful money of the United States of America,
to be paid to the said Cortez R. Hoskins and Leonora Hoskins,
his wife, when the deed conveying said property to the City of
Anaheim, free and clear of all encumbrances, except all taxes
for the fiscal year 1953 -54 and covenants, conditions, restric-
tions and public utility easements of record or as shown by en-
dorsements on the recorded map of the subdivision above de-
scribed, can be recorded and a policy of title insurance

issued by the Title Insurance and Trust Company showing said
property vested in the City of Anaheim as above set forth.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 9th day of Jere 1953.
