RESOLUTION NO. 2!Q2
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM GRANTING VARIANCE NO. 468.
WHEEEAS, the City P~anning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive a petition from the owners of certain rea~
property situated in the City of Anah~im, County of Orange,
state of California, desoribed as follows:
Parcell: That portion of lot 14 of Anaheim Extension,
in the City of Anaheim County of Orange, state of Cali-
fornia, as per survey by Wil~iam Hame~, a oopy of which
is fi~ed in the office of the County Recorder of Orange
Guunty in book 3 pages ~63 et se~, entit~ed "Los Ange~es
County Maps," described as fol~ows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of said ~ot ~4 being
at the intersection of the southerly line of East Santa
Ana street and the wester~y line of P~acentia Avenue as
shown on a map of Tract No. ~697 recorded in book 59
pages 43, 44 and 45 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the office
of the county recorder of said Orange County; thence
South 740 32' 09" West 135.00 feet along said south 11ne
of East Santa Ana Street; thence southeasterly at right
angles with said East Santa Ana street to a line parallel
with said southerly line of East Banta Ana street and
130.00 feet southerly measured along said westerly line
of Placentia Avenue from said northeast corner of lot 14;
thence northeasterly along said parallel line to said
westerly line of Plaoentia Avenue; thence North 0010'27"
East 130.00 feet along said westerly line of Placentia
Avenue to the point of beginning.
Parcel 2: An easement for ingress and egress over that
portion of lot 14 of Anaheim Extension, in the city of
Anaheim, oounty of Orange, state of California, as per
survey ~ William Hamel, a oopy of which is filed in the
office of the county recorder of Orange County in book
3 pages 163 et seq, entitled "Los Angeles County Maps,"
desoribed as follows:
Beginning at a point on the southerly line of East Santa
Ana Street South 74032'09" West 135.00 feet thereon from
the northeast corner of said lot 14, said northeast cor-
ner being at the intersection of the southerly line of
East Santa Ana Street and the westerly line of Plaoentia
Avenue as shown on a map of Tract No. 1697 recorded in
book 59 pages 4" 44 and 45 of Miscellaneous Maps in
the office of the county recorder of said Orange Oounty;
thence South easterly 33.00 feet at right angles with
said southerly line of said East Santa Ana Street; thence
Northwesterly to a point on a line which is at right angles
with said southerly line of East Santa Ana street and
Westerly 15.00 feet from the point of beginning Southeast-
erly 5.25 feet thereon from said southerly line of East
Santa Ana Street; thence Northwesterly 5.25 feet along
said line to said southerly line of East Santa Ana street;
thence North 74032109" East 15.00 feet to the point of
beginning.

AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold
a public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on
Deoember 19, 1955, notices of which said public hearing were
duly given as required by law and the provisions of Section
9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, said City Planning Commission, after due in-
spection, investigation and studies made by itself and in its
behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hearing, did adopt Resolution No. 95 -- Series
1'55-56, denying Variance No. 468 requesting permission to
erect a service station on the above desoribed property, for
the reasons set forth in said resolutionj and
WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty (20) days from the
date of the adoption of said resolution, a written appeal was
filed with the City Council of the City of Anaheim requesting
a review of the aotion taken by said Planning Commission, and
said appeal was set for public hearing on the 31st day of Jan-
uary, 1956 at 7:00 o'olock P.M. at the City Hall, in the City
of Anaheim, and notice of such public hearing was duly given
as required by law and the prOVisions of Seotion 9200;17 of
the Anaheim Municipal Codej and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Counoil did duly hold and conduot suoh publio
hearing and did give all persons interested therein an opportun-
ity to be heard, and did reoeive evidence and reports; and
WHEREAS, after due investigation and studies made by
itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all the
evidenoe and reports offered at said hearing, the City Counoil
does find that:
1. There are exceptional or extraordinary ciroum-
stances or conditions applicable to the property
involved or to the intended use of the property
that do not apply generally to the property or
olass of use in the same vicinity and zone.

2. That such variance is necessary for the preserva-
tion and enjoyment of a substantial property right
possessed by other property in the same vicinity
and zone and denied to the property in question.
3. That the granting of suoh varianoe will not be
materially detrimental to the public welfare or
injurious to the property or improvements in such
vicinity and zone in whioh the property is looated.
4. That the granting of suoh variance will not adverse-
ly affect the comprehensive general zoning plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that a oonditional zoning variance be, and
the same is hereby, granted to HENRY and ROSA C. E. STEINBRINK,
8761 South Plaoentia Avenue, Anaheim, California, to erect a
servioe station on the property hereinabove desoribed, upon
the following oonditions:

1. That Henry and Rosa C.E. Steinbrink deed to
the City of Anaheim, a strip of land twenty
(20) feet in depth along Plaoentia Avenue
and a strip 5i feet in depth along Santa
Ana Street for street w1dening purposes;
and further
2. That said streets be improved as required
by the City Engineer, of the City of Anaheim.
The City Council hereby reserves the right to revoke
such variance permit for good cause or failure of said owners
or their heirs, sucoessors or assigns, to oomply with the Ana-
heim Munioipal Code and regulations, and the oonditions herein.
Said variance is granted for the term preseribed by the Ana-
heim Municipal Code unless otherwise specified herein~
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
this 31st day of January, 1956.
