A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM CHAT {SING THE NAME OF
3; BURTON STREET IN THE WESTERN PART OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM TO WESTMONT DRIVE.

6 ;I! was received by the City Council of the City of Anaheim from the
7;I property owners living upon or adjoining Burton Street in the
WHEREAS, on October 2, 1952, an application and petition
8 western part of the City of Anaheim requesting the name of said
ii
9il Burton Street be changed to Westmont Drive; and

111 application for change of name of said Street to the City Planning
12 Commission of the City of Anaheim for its investigation, its report
131 and recommendation to the City Council; and

151 Planning Commission did duly hold a public hearing of which notice
16 I was duly given as required by law and the provisions of Anaheim
17 Municipal Code Section 9200 and did thereupon adopt its resolution

20 should be changed and recommending to the City Council that the
21 name of "Burton Street" be changed to "Westmont Drive; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is another
street or highway in the County of Orange northeast of the City
I of Anaheim named Burton Street and that there is conflict between
the two streets and that the existence of two streets so near
26 1 together is confusing to the public and that the territory in

31i such a condition will be confusing and misleading to the public;

WHEREAS, the City Council did thereupon refer said
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of February, 1953, the City
No. 34 Series 1952 -53 finding and determining that the name of
Burton Street situated in the westerly part of the City of Anaheim
which said other Burton Street is located is presently under con-
sideration for annexation to the City of Anaheim anc that if said
property is so annexed to the City of Anaheim, there will then be

two streets in said/ bearing the nameof Burton Street and that
that by reason of the existence of the two streets or highways

1 bearing the same name situated so that they cannot be joined to-
2 gether as one street and by reason of the foregoing facts, the
3 City Council finds that public interest and necessity require that
4 the name of Burton Street in the westerly part of the City of
5 Anaheim be changed to avoid public confusion.
6 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
7 i THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that the name of Burton Street situated in the
8 I E western part of the City of Anaheim be, and the same is hereby,
9 changed to Westmont Drive; and that henceforth and hereafter said
10 street shall be known and designated upon all maps as "Westmont
