478 OF THE STREETS AND HIHWAYS CODE CHANGING
THE ROUTE OF HIGHWAY 178.
R7SOLUTION NO. 2092
WHEREAS, State Highway Route 178 extends from Cerritos
Avenue near on Beach. to Route 1 4 near Olive via Anaeim as
provided by Section 478 of the Street and Highways Code of Cali-
fornia; and
WHEREAS, State Hihway 178 includes Center Street and
Lincoln Avenue in the City of Anaheim and that all traffic utoon
and, along said. Pls.:hit:ay 178 travels thraa the 01A'A business eetto
of the City of Anaheim upon and along Center 'Street and.. Lincoln
Avonue; that there are three public schools located upon 0:enter
Street in the City of Anaheim; tat, the highway traffIc and par-
ticularly the heavy truck traffic that travels upon and along said
highway through. the City of Anaheim has become a diatinct hazard
to school children and a. serious menace to their safety; and
WHEREAS, the noise from truck travel upon. and along
aid highway through tne City of Anaheim has increased to such. an
extent that it interferes with. the transaction of business by
business concerne whose nffiees are situated upon and a)ong said
Center Street.
NOW, TFEREFOFE, BE TT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Senator John A. Murdy, State Assemblyman
Leroy Lyon, Jr., and. State Assemblyman Earl W. Stanley be recuested
reroutinR said highway 178 from Cerritos Avenue to 'Route 143 near
Olive by Crangethorpe Avenue; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he 'a

hereby, ailthorizea f directerl to forward a certified. copy of
thi Resolution to Honorable Sohn i.urdy, Senator from Orange
to propose and seek the passage of an amendort to ection 478
of the Streets and. H Code amending said Section 478 by
