ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA 11 11 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the 13th day of January, 1953, receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the proposal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Anaheim was sub- mitted to the Boundary Commission of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited territory, and said petition contained a description of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this resolute ion described; and. WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports received that at the time of the filing and receipt of said petition it was and now is signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth CO of the area and not less than one- fourth (i) of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assessment roll; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and presentation of said petit- ion that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was uninhabite and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed -T- RESOLUTION NO. cZ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM; GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIV- ING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. 21 31 4 5 6 7 8 28 29 30 31 32 12 13 14 15 16 17 26 27 CITY OF ANAHEIM 204 E. CALIFORNIA to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to wit: 18 I1 Anaheim: 19 A tract of land lying within fractional Section 1, Township 4 South, Range 11 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and fractional Section 6, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point which is the most southwesterly corner of the Houston Avenue Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Orange County, California, said point also being the most northeasterly corner of the intersection of La Palma Avenue (60 feet wide) and Magnolia Avenue (60 feet wide); thence from said point of beginning: 1. Westerly 1357.58 feet, more or less, along the northerly right—of— way line of said La Palma Avenue and its extension across said Magnolia Avenue to a point which is the Westerly line of E- of Ai of Fractional Section 1, T4S, R 11 W, S.B.B.M; thence 2. Northerly 3224 feet, more or less, along the said westerly line of E2 of Ei of Fractional Section 1, T4S, R 11 W, S.B.B.M. to a point on a line parallel to the Southerly right —of —way line of Manchester Avenue said line being 400 feet, more or less, southwesterly from said souther right —of —way line of Manchester Avenue, measured at right angles there— to, said line also being the southerly boundary of the said Houston Avenue Annexation; thence, 3. Southeasterly, 1625 feet, more or less, along the said southerly boundary of the said Houston Avenue Annexation to a point in the east— erly right —of —way line of said Magnolia Avenue; thence, 4. Southerly, 2329.09 feet, more or less, along the said easterly right —of —way line of Magnolia Avenue to the point of beginning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of That such proposed annexation be designaged as DELCO—REMY AiIEXATION 20 'I and that notice of such proposed annexation be and the same is hereby given; an 21 II BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 13th day of February, 1953, at the 22 E hour of 4:00 o'clock P.M., at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the 23 24 25 City of Anaheim, be and the same is hereby, fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such proposed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed; Ozd BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at —2— 4 5 6 7 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 28 21 5 29 30 i 31 I l l 32 I1 CITY OF ANAHEIM 204 E. ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in a newspaper of general circul- ation published in the City, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation published out- side of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Placentia Courier: That such publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days prio to the date of hearing hereinabove specified. 8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, 9 and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause written notice of such propose 10 annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed 111 to be annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on said assess- ment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, eithe legal or equitable, with said Clerk: That in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public 20 (hearing on the proposed annexation. iI 21 22 o f January, 1953.
