1952-20411 RESOLUTION NO. 2041 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF 3 A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF 4 ANAHEIM, GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF 5 THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE 6 WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED 7 TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY 8 SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on 11 the 12th day of November, 1952, receive a written petition asking 12 that certain new territory described in said petition and herein- 13 after more particularly described, be annexed to the City of 14 Anaheim; and 15 WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the proposal 16 for annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim was sub- 17 mitted to and reported upon to the proponents by the Boundary Com- 18 mission of the County of Orange, State of California, with respect 19, to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and 20 WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said 21 City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of Cali- 22 fornia, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited 23 jterritory, and said petition contained a description of said terri- 24 tory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution de- 25 scribed.; and 26 WHEREAS, the City Counell finds from evidence 27 received that at the time of the filing and receipt of saiel 281,t was and now is signed by owners of not less than 29 of the area and not less than one-fourth of the assessed valu- 30ation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, accord- 31HinR to the last preceding equalized county assessment roll; and 32 WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports CITY OF ANAHEIM 204 E. CALIFORNIA presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to 3; be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any mun- 4 icipal corporation and that said territory was uninhabited and is 5 contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and 6 WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and 7 evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory 8 so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, 9 to wit: 10 11 12 13 14' 15 16 I 17 18 19 20 21 ii 22 23 II 24 II 25 26 I I 27 i l 28 I! 29 I� 30 31 3211 A tract of land lying within a portion of the Southwest 1 of Section 4, Township 4 South, Range 10 West San Bernardino Base and Meridian, and more particularly de- scribed as follows: Beginning at a point on the existing City Limits line of the City of Anaheim, said point being on the West right -of -way line of West Street and a distance of 660 feet more or less Northerly from the South line of Section 4, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; said line also being the monumented center line of La Palma Avenue; thence Northerly along said West right -of -way line of West Street a distance of 40 feet more or less to the North line of that certain parcel deeded to Joseph Packer and Marie Packer husband and wife as described in Certificate of Title No. 12,245 filed in Book 49, Page 232 R.O.C.; thence Westerly along said North line a distance of 186.18 feet more or less, to an angle point therein; thence Southwesterly along said Northerly line and its extension a distance of 338 feet more or less to the East line of that certain parcel deeded to George Albertus Collman filed in Book 1127, Page 423, Document No. 4821, R.O.C.; thence Northerly along said East line a distance of 165.43 feet more or less to the Southerly right -of -way line of the Anaheim Union Water Company as referred to in said deed; thence Southwesterly along said Southerly right -of -way line a distance of 446.9 feet more or less, to the West line of that certain parcel as deeded to George Albertus Collman filed. in Book 1127, Page 423, R.O.C.; thence Northerly along the extension of said West line a distance of 18 feet more or less, to the Northerly right -of -way line of said Anaheim Union Water Company; thence Southwesterly along said Northerly right-of-way line to its intersection with the North line of that certain parcel deeded to Eugene P. Hapgood. and Genevieve G. Hapgood, husband and wife, as described in Certificate of Title No. 9902 filed in Book 40 Page 139 R.O.C.; thence Westerly along said North line a distance of 637.1 feet more or less to the West line of said parcel; said line also being the East line of Lot 3 as shown on a R/S filed in Book 1, Page 55, R.O.C.; thence Southerly along said line a distance of 181.1 feet more or less, to the existing City limits line of the City of Anaheim; thence Easterly continuing along said City Limits line a distance of -2- 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 23 24 25 CITY OF ANAHEIM 204 E. ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA 80 feet to a point; thence Southerly continuing along said City Limits Line a distance of 56.7 feet to a point; thence Easterly continuing along said City Limits line a distance of 556.77 feet to a point; thence Southerly continuing along said City Limits line a distance of 275 feet to a point; thence Easterly continuing along said City Limits Line a distance of 409.20 feet to a point; thence Northerly continuing along said City Limits Line a distance of 451.80 feet to a point; thence Easterly continuing along said City Limits Line a distance of 495.40 feet more or less, to a point, said point being on the West right -of -way line of West Street; thence Northerly continuing along said right -of -way line and said City Limits line a distance of 153.20 feet more or less to the point of beginning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF 10 THE CITY OF ANAHEIM: 11 That such proposed annexation be designated as WEST 12 LA PALMA AVENUE ANNEXATION NO. 2 and that notice of such proposed 13 annexation be and the same is hereby given; and 14 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the /f i day of Dec.emb.er 15 1952, at the hour of Y 00 o'clock P.M., at the City Council 16 ;Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim, be and the same 17'''ri.s hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any 18 person owning real property within said territory so proposed to 19 be be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, 20 !may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show 21 cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons 22 having any objections to such proposed annexation are hereby noti- "i fled to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is 26 „hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution 27 to be published at least twice, but not oftener than, once a week 281lin a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to 29 `,wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California, 30 and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside 31'of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the 32 ;,territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, CITY OF ANAHEIM 204 E.
