A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO JOIN THE FOUR
CORNERS TRANSPORTATION COALITION AND
COMMITTING $10,000 ANNUALLY FOR THREE YEARS FOR
MEMBERSHIP DUES
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is located within the area where the counties of San
Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside converge, collectively known as the "Four Corners"
area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has participated and played a role in the Four
Corners Transportation Group since the creation of the Group in the early 1990's; and
WHEREAS, in July 2000 the Four Corners Group adopted a detailed transportation
plan that identified and prioritized the top transportation projects to improve the mobility of people
and goods through the Four Corners area; and
WHEREAS, the construction of these projects would improve the regiop's air quality,
enhance public safety, support economic prosperity and provide the residents and visitors with a
better quality of life; and
WHEREAS, the Four Corners Transportation Coalition is apublic/private non-profit
corporation dedicated to secure funding for top priority transportation projects identified by the Four
Corners Group.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
The City of Anaheim will become a Government Member in the four Corners
Transportation Coalition.
2. The City will commit $10,000.00 annually for a period of three years for Four
Corners Transportation Coalition membership dues. The City currently has
sufficient funding to cover the Ten Thousand Dollar ($10,000) annual
commitment for three fiscal years and will set aside Thirty Thousand Dollars
($30,000.00) in the 2006/2007 budget to cover the annual commitment for
fiscal years 2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009.
3. The Mayor is authorized to sign the Four Corners Transportation Coalition
Membership agreement on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
4. Council Member Hernandez will serve as the City's duly authorized
representative on the Four Corners Transportation Coalition Board of
Directors.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City
