Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the Calif ornia Labor Code. The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of wor shall be the hereinbefore set forth prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a days work, it being understood that i the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours. The overtime rule establishing the dates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a days work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 .o!olock P. M. Friday and 7 :00 otclock A. M. Monday or on holi- days, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one -half (1i) times the basic rate of wages. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be considered a legal holiday.
