RESOLUTION NO. 1882
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING SEALED PROPOSALS
AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST
RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE FURNISHING TO
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF STREET SIGNS,
BRACKETS AND HARDWARE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did cause
to be published in a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the City of Anaheim to wit: the Ana-
heim Bulletin, on the 7th and 14th days of September, 1951, a
notice inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing to the :;ity
of Anaheim in approximate quantities of 300 more or less of street
signs, brackets and hardware in accordance with "Street Name
Sign Specifications,City of Anaheim, California" on file in the
Office of the Administrative Officer of Anaheim, California; and
WHEREAS, such notice inv proposals for such street
signs, brackets and hardware aid provide that said sealed proposals
would be received by the City Council of the City of Anaheim at
the office of the City Clerk of said City up to the hour of 8 :00
o'clock P.M. Tuesday, September 25, 1951, and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim did re-
ceive the followinL sealed proposals prior to 8 :00 o'clock P.M.
on Tuesday, September 25, 1951, in response to said notice in-
viting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said street signs,
brackets and hardware in lengths of 24 inches, 32 inches or
36 inches, to -wit:

WHEREAS, the City uouncil finds that the said sealed
proposal of the U. S. Porcelain Enamel Company, 4635 E. 52nd
Drive, Los Angeles 22, California, for the furnishing of said
street signs, brackets and hardware in accordance with the
specifications and notice inviting sealed proposals is the lowest
responsible proposal submitted for the furnishing of said street
signs, brackets and hardware, and that said proposal of U. S.
Porcelain Enamel Company should be accepted and a contract awarded
to said company;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY 07 ANAHFITVI that the said proposal submitted by U. S.
Porcelain E Company, 4635 East 52nd Drive, Los Angeles 22,
California, for the furnishing of street signs, brackets and hard-
ware as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals and
in accordance with the"Street Name Sign Specifications, City of
Anaheim, California" on file in the office of the Administrative

Officer of the City of Anaheim, California, be, and the same is
hereby, accepted; that a contract for the furnishing of said street
signs, brackets and hard are be, and the same is hereby, awarded
to said U. S. Porcelain Enamel Company.
A "'D BE IT FURTHFF RESOLVED that the said U. S. Porcelain
Enamel Company be, and it is hereby, required to execute a con-
tract in required form satisfactory to the City of Anaheim upon
the terms and conditions specified in the notice inviting sealed
proposals and the proposal submitted by it and in accordance with
the specifications and special provisions herein referred to for
the furnishing of 300 more or less street signs, brackets and
hardware in all required lengths at the price of 0 3.88
per unit, f.o.b. Anaheim, to be delivered within sixty (60) days
from date contract is executed by and between the City of Anaheim
and said U. S. Porcelain enamel Company.
AND 3F IT FTJRTHFR RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and they are hereby, authorized
and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim
with said U. S. Porcelain Enamel Company a written contract for
furnishing said signs, brackets and hardware in accordance with
"Street Name Sign Specifications, City of Anaheim, California"
on file in the office of the Administrative Officer of the City
of Anaheim and the sealed Proposal submitted by said U. S. Forcelai
Enamel Company and accepted by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim and the notice inviting sealed proposals and the terms
and provisions of this resolution.
AND BE TT FURTH t RESOLVED that said contract contain
a provision that should saia U. S. Porcelain anamel Company fail
to furnish said street signs, brackets and hardware in accordance
with said specifications and the sealed proposal submitted by it
and accepted by the City yvithin the time herein specified that they
shall, in addition to any other penalties provided in the contract
documents, be liable to the City of Anaheim for all loss or damage

that the latter may suffer on account thereof.
THE FOR7GOING RFSOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 13th day of November, 1951.
