VkETTLIN TC DO THE WORK OF CODIFY- ING SAID ORDINANCES UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE CITY ATTORNE` AND FIXING HIS CCMPENS".TION FOR SUCH SERVICES. 'H ?RE�.S, there are 775 Ordinances in the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, said Ordinances have been enacted over a period of years from 1888 to the present time and that during said period of time many of said Ordinances have been amended, repealed in whole, or in part, or re- enacted; and FIEREAS, there is no effective index by which said Ordi- nances or any particular section thereof can be readily found when necessary to refer thereto; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for the best interest and welfare of the City, city officials, citizens of Anaheim and other persons who wish to refer to said city ordinances to have the same codified and a complete cross -index prepared there- for and that said codification should be made in the form of a municipal code and the City Counc l further finds that the enactment of such municipal code would save the citizens and taxpayers of Anaheim a considerable amount of money now necessary to be expended for the publication of each ordinance or amendment to an ordinance enacted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C ITS COUNC L OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that all city ordinances of the City of naheim be codified and included in a municipal code to be known and desig- nated as the Anaheim Municipal Code and be completely indexed end cross indexed and to be in such form that subsequent aadition or amendments thereto can be maae by the amendment of the sections of the code or by the addition of new sections thereto. AND BF IT ''URTHER RESOLVED that David G. U'ettlin be 27 28 29 30 31 32 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 employed to do said work of codifying said ordinances and compiling said Municipal Code under the direction and supervision of the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim, said employment to date from February 27, 1951; and that his compensation, for said work be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of Eighteen Hundred Dollars, which compensation shall be Paid as follos: Nine Hundred 0900.00) Dollars upon completion,to the satis- faction of the City Attorney of the amity of Anaheim, of the work contemplated and specified by paragraph 2 of the proposal submitted to the City Council of the City of .Anaheim, under date of February 27, 1951,by said David G. `'ettlin, and the sure of Four Hundred (.400.00) Dollars at the time that the completed code of the codi- fication of the city ordinances of the City of Anaheim is redy to be submitted to the printer for printing and the remaining Five Hundred (4500) Dollars of saia compensation shall be paid after the proof reading and final printing of said Code.
