FURNISHING OF STEEL PIPX DRESSER TYPE
COUPLINGS,. HORIZONTAL SEWAGE PUMPS AND

irculation to-wit, the Anaheim Bulletin on the Sth and 14th,
ay s of December, 1950 a notice inviting sealed proposals for
the furnishing of the following steel pipe, couplings, sewage
umps and electric motors:
Approximately 7,600 linear feet of 18" 10-gauge
Welded Steel Pipe ;s epecified on pages 4-8 to
4-13 of the aforesaid plans and specifications.
190 Steel "Dreleser" type Gouplings for said 18
10-gauge Welded Steel ripe above mentioned,
conforming to the aforesaid plans and spec-
ifications as set forth on pages 4-11.
2 horizontal Sewage Pumps conforming to the
plans and specifioations for the Magnolia
Trunk Sewer above mentioned, capable of dis-
charging 2 gallons of raw sewage per
minute when operating individually against
a total dunamio head of 55 feet and when
oPersting simultaneously in parallel capable
of discharging 5,400 gallons per minute
against a dynamic head of 115 feet.
2 Electric Motors conforming to the plans
and speoifications of the Magnolia Trunk
Sever above mentioned to be conneeted to,
and capable of operating„ the sewage pumps
above mentioned. Said motors shall be two
speed similar or equal to General Electric
Oompany Type K frame 63359„ 125/60 Horse-
power 6/10 pole 1200/900 RPM, 440 volt,
3 phase, 60 cycle, 55 deg. C. rise, totally
enolosed fan coOled„ Class 1 Group D
plosion proof horizontal motors; 2-winding,
2-epeed variable torque ball bearing motors, and
WilEREAS at a regular adjounned meeting of the City Counoil
held on the 19th day of December, 1950, at 3 o'clock P.R. of said
date and which said meeting was recetsed until 8 o'clock P.M. of

said date, the Cit council of the City of Anaheim did hold a public
meeting and hearing for the purpose of opening all sealed proposals
received up to that time for the furnishing of the Steel Pipe,
Couplings, Sewage Pumps and Electric Motors as specified to said
notice, and did at said time and place open all sealed proposals
reoeived which said sealed proposals so received were from the
following persons, firms or corporations to furnish the amount of
said Pipe, Couplings, Pumps and/or Motors set opposite their rimes
and at the following prices:

2 Horizontal, Ball Bearing,Sewage Pumps, and 2 electric motors as
specified in notice inviting sealed proposals, and the plans and
specifications, consisting of two units, each unit containing one
pump and one electric motor described in said proposal as follows:
CoNDITIONS:
Each pump to haldle 2700 gallons per minute of raw sewage against
55 ft. TDH at 900 RPM. Pumping in parallel. 5400 g.p.m. at 1
ft. TDH at 1200 RPM.
2 8" Fig. 5425, Fairbanks-Morse, horizontal, ball bearing, eewag
ad trash pumps complete with cast iron, two-port impellers, passi
5" diameter solids. Pumps equipped with 14% chrome stainless stee
shaft sleeves through the stuffing boxes and mounted on Sturdiweld
steel sub-bases including rubber cushion type flexible couplings
and direct connected to:
2 Type "X', frame 63353, 125/60 HP, 6/6 pole, 1200/900 RPM, 440
volt, 3 phase, 60 cycle, 55 deg. C. rise, totally enclosed, fan
cooled, Claes 1, Group I 'D*, explosion proof, horizontal, two speed,
two winding, variable torque, ball bearing motors.
Your net cost each unit f.o.b. your pumping plant 409290.00.
Total for two units 418,580.00, plus California State sales tax.
Terms net 30 days.
Delivery 30 weeks after receipt of order whh fullinformation to
proceed.

If cast iron sub-base is preferred for the above equipment, the
price of each unit would be 49440.00; total for two unite 0.8,680.
plus California State sales tax.
WHEREAS, the City Council did thereupon refer said bids to the
gineering Committee for examination and report to the City Council
its regular meeting to be held on Tuesday, December 26, 1950, at
'clock p.m., and
WHEREAS, the City Otty Oounoil did meet on the 26th day of December,
950, at g o'clock P.M. and did find that the above mentioned sealed
oposals were the only proposals received by the City of Anaheim for
he furnishing of said pipe, couplings, pumps and motors that they
d further find that the said proposal submitted by Arnie() Drainage
etal Products Company did not comply with the notice inviting sealed
roposals for the reason that it was not accompanied by a bond as
pecified in said notice, and the City Council of the City of Anaheim
id further find that the sealed proposals received from Southern Pipe
nd Casing Company is the lowest responsible bid received for the fur-
ishing of 7,600 feet of Steel Pipe and 190 Dresser type Couplings
