1950-1741RESOLUTION NO. ,1:r iAr!': 1741 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS CONTRACTING CITY, TO MAKE AND AWARD A CON- TRACT FOR DESIGNING OF A NEW CIRCULATING UNIT FOR DIGESTER NUMBER ONE AND DIGESTER NUMBER THREE IN THE PRESENT SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT NUMBER ONE, AND TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF. WHEREAS, the sewage treatment plant in the County of Orange, State of California, near Verano Street and Ellis Avenue, is overloaded, and it has been decided to construct a new 75 -foot digester plant, and it is necessary to have constructed in said Digester Plant Number One and in the new Digester Plant, Number Three, and each of them, a new circulating unit to properly handle the sewage and industrial waste from the cities and sani- tary districts which are parties signatory to an agreement cover- ing the ownership, maintenance, construction and operation of said sewage works; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana, as contracting city, is hereby authorized and directed to make and award. a contract for the design of new circulating units for Digester Number One and Digester Number Three in the sewage dis- posal plant above referred to, and to award a contract for the construction thereof; that it is authorized and directed to proceed, as soon as possible, to call for bids for the installa- tion and.construction of said circulating units, and to award the contract for such construction to the lowest responsible bidder, and to do all things necessary to expedite the construction of said new circulating units, which are hereby declared to be necessary additional sewage facilities. Said contract may be awarded, if advisable, in conjunction with the contract for the construction of the new digester unit to be constructed, as provided for in a Resolution heretofore passed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim hereby promises and agrees to pay its percentage of the total costs of such facilities as such percentage is set out in the joint agree- ment and supplements thereto for the joint construction of ad- ditional facilities. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any offer heretofore made to sell said sewage pipe line and treatment plant is hereby modified to the extent that the percentage of the total costs of said cir- culating units above referred to that is to be paid by the City of Anaheim, and such percentage of the total cost of any other addi- tional facilities that is to be paid by said City of Anaheim, is hereby added to the price asked to effect a sale and transfer of title to any agent or group of contracting districts.
