ASS, the City of Anaheim, a city of the sixth class, in the County of Orange, desires to continue the repair of Lemon Street, a street within the in- corporatedlimita of the City of Anaheim, the nature and extent of the contemplated pro3ect being more fully described hereafter: AEEBEAS, there is attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof, a sketch showing the location of Lemon Street and its relationship to the princi- pal highways of the County of Orange in said area, and WHYS, Section 2150 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to cities in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a city, provided that the Board of Supertiiors of such County de- termines that the project is in the general County interests; HCW, THB8BFU8¢, BE IT RESOL4ED BY THE CITY COt71iCIL OF THL CITY OF AAAHEIM, that the City of Anaheim hereby requests the County of Grange fora great of aid in the sum of Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty-two and 33/100 Dollars ($1'x,822.33) ont of the Countyts apportionment of the California Highway Users Tea Fund, the amount raga®sted to be used exclusively for the following purposes: 1. The repair of Lemon Street,situated ae designated oa "Exhibit Ap hereof. 2. The nature and extent of the project and the estimated cost thereof are substantially as follows: The southerly portion of Lemon Street was resurfaced in 1949 with funds provided by the County from the Highway Users Tea Fund, and the City now desires to complete the repair of this street is the same manner. This street was paved in 1914 with a 4~-inch concrete base and a 2-inch asphalt surface the surface course now being shattered and loose and becoming dangerous to traffic It is proposed to remove the present surfacing from the northerly line of Broadway to the northerly line of Aorth Street (excluding the intersection of Center Street and to resurface this area with 2-inch asphalt concrete. Avenue through Fullerton to the Brea Road. Lemon Street carries a con- siderable volume of traffic t-hich prefers to avoid the traffic controls on the adjacent and parallel II. S. Highxay 101. BE IT FUBTF~SH ~SOLYED that it is understood that the grant of the aid hereby 'requested is contingent upon an independent finding by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange that the purpose for xhich aid is hereby sought is in the general County interest. BE IT FIIBTHER RErSOLP.~D that it is understood that upon acceptance by the City of Anaheim of any grant xhich may be Wade by the County of Orange, pursuant to this request, this Resolution,the Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange specifying the terms and conditions of the grant, and any and all laws applicable shall constitute the agreement betxeen the City of Anaheim and the County of Orange respecting the grant.
