1949-17031 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO, 1703 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the 30th day of September, 1949, receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim, and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California. and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited territo y, and said petition contained a description of said territory in word and figures as hereinafter in this Reslution described, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports received that at the time of the filing and receipt of said petitio it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one fourth of the area and not less than one fourth (4) of the assessed valu- ation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, accords to the last preceding equalized county assessment roll, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any munic pal corporation and that said territory was uninhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evi- dence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to -wi All that certain property described as "Par cel 1" in Certificate of Title No. 12764, -1- g 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 recorded in Volume 52, Page 12764, Torrens Title, in the Office of the Registrar of Titles, Orange County, California, and more particularly described as follows: A portion of Lot 27 of Anaheim Extension, in the County of Orange, State of California, as shown on a Map of Survey made by William Hamel in 1868 and filed in the Office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, Cali- fornia, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the Westerly line of said. Lot 27, being a point in the center line of Palm Street, distant N. 15 47' W., 494.00 feet from the intersection of the center lines of Palm Street and Ball Road, said point of beginning being the Northwesterly corner of Parcel 1 of Registrar's Certificate of Title No. 7753; thence, N. 15° 47' W., along said Westerly line of Lot 27, 672.09 feet to a point 257.00 feet Southeasterly of the inter- section of the center lines of Vermont Avenue (formerly Broad Street) and Palm Street, said point being in the exterior boundary line of the City of Anaheim, as now established; thence, Easterly along a line parallel with the center line of Vermont Avenue, being along the Southerly lines of Registrar's Certificate of Title Nos. 9299, 9164, 9201 and 9100 re- spectively, a distance of 759.40 feet to a point in the Easterly line of Parcel 1 of Registrar's Certif'i.cate of Title No. 7725; thence, Southeasterly along the Easterly line of Parcel 1 of Registrar's Certificate of Tit- le No. 7725 and along the Easterly line of Parcel 1 of Registrar's Certificate of Title No. 7724 to the Northeasterly corner of Parcel 1 of Registrar's Certificate of Title No. 7753; thence, Southwesterly to the point of beginning. Excepting therefrom the portion included with- in the Right of Way of Palm Street along the Westerly side of said land. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Anaheim: That such proposed annexation be designated as SOUTH PALM STREET ANNEXATION NO. 2 and that notice of such proposed annexation be and the same is hereby given, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the _tAi day of ovenber_ 1949, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim, be and the same is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning -2- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such proposed annexation are hereby notified to appea on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to publish or cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least once a week for two successive weeks prior to the 9th day of November 1949, in the ATTEST: LERK OF C TY 0 ANAHEIM Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California.
