1949-16971 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. /417 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY S0 PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANA HEIM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the 27th day of July, 1949, receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim, and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of Cali- fornia, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited territory, and said petition contained a description of said terri- tory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution describe3, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- ports received that at the time of the filing and receipt of said petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one fourth of the area.-..and not less than one- fourth of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assessment roll, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- ports received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim does not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory °ia uninhabited, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory -1- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows: to -wit: A tract of land in the Si of the SW of the SW4 of Sec- tion 9, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, in the County of Orange, State of California, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the west property line of Loara Street, which point is S- 0 44' -50" -E a distance of 96.02 feet from the north line of said Si- of the SW* of the SW of said Section 9; thence S- 88 28' -36" -W a distance of 503.94 feet to a point on the present northeasterly pro- perty line of Manchester Avenue; thence S- 10- 40' -12 -E a distance of 91.54 feet to the point of intersection of the southwesterly line of the 80 -foot right -of -way of said Manchester Avenue and the original northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right -of -way; thence 5- 32 46' -30 -W a distance of 100 feet to a point on the southwesterly line of said Southern Pacific Com- pany's right -of -way; thence S- 57 13' -30 -E along said southwesterly line of said railroad right -of -way, a dis- tance of 646.02 feet, more or less, to a point on said west line of Loara Street; thence N- 0 44' -50 -W along said west property line of Loara Street, a distance of 543.54 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM: That such proposed annexation be designated as MANCHESTER AVENUE ANNEXATION NO. 2 and that notice of such proposed annexation be and the same is hereby given, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the q, day of gellabk 1949, at the hour of 8 :00 o'clock P.M., at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim, be and the same is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any ob- jections to such proposed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to publish or cause a copy of this -2- 29 30 31 32 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 28 27 28 Resolution to be published at least once a week for two successive weeks prior to the e day of 21 19 in the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California.
