1949-1669RESOLUTION NO. 1669 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED HAY PPEAR BEFORE TEL CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim aid, on the 18th day of September, 198, receive a written ')etition asking that certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim, and WHEREAS, sid territory oroJosed to be Lnnexed to said City of Anaheim is situate d in the Co of Orange, State of California End is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited terri- tory, and is described in said petition as follo::s: A strip of land 30 feet in width ad to and along the south line of Orangethorpe Avenue, extending from the present city limit line of Anaheim on the east to the west line of the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 4, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, S. B B. Y., and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports received that at the time of the filing and receipt of said petition it was and now is signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth of the area and not less than one-fourth of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assessment roll, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports received that at the time of the Mini and presentation of scid petition, said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 of Anaheim did not form a Lart of any municipal corporation, and at the time of the filing of said petition for annexation, was unin- habited and that said territory so :proposed to be annexed is contic- ous to the City of Anaheim, and. WHEREA, the City Council finds from the petition and from evidence and reports received Erie statements of petitioners that the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to-wit: A strip of land 30 feet in width south of and adjacent to the south line of Orangethorpe Avenue, extending from the present city limit line of Anaheim on the east to the west line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section Lt., Township 4 South, Range 10 West, S. B. B. 11., and more particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the ooint of intersection of the south line of Orangethorpe Avenue w±th the present city limit line of the City of Anaheim, which point is 30 feet south of the quarter-section corner on the north line of Section 3, Town- ship 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence West along said south line of Orangethorpe Avenue to a point on the west line of the east half of the Northeast .Ilarter of Section 4, aforesaid township and range; thence south along s id west line of the east half of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 4, a distance of 30 feet; thence east, parallel with and distant uniformly 30 feet south of said south line of Orangethorpe Avenue, to a point on the north-and-south center line of said Section 3, which point is also on the present city limit line of said City of Anaheim; thence North alon7 soid north-and-south center line of said Section 3, rndalong said present city limit line, a distance of 30 feet to the point of beginning. -2- NOW, THER2FoRE, 3E IT RIOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM That such pr000sed annexation be designated as the Orangetho p Avenue Annexation, and that notice of such proposed annexation be and the same is hereby given. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 29th day of Aoril, 1949 at the hour of 8:00 o P. M at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim, be an the sa.le is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, :nay aopear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause hy such territory should not be so annexed; and all persons having any objections to such or000sed anneyotion are hereby notified to appecr on s,id day at said hour and. place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed, and BE IT FURTHER R.:SOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to oublish or cause a coy of this Resolution to be published at least once a weeh for two successive weel:os, prior to the 29th day of April, 1949, in the Anaheim Bulletin a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of AnaheilA County of Orange, State of California.
