1948-16351 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION RESOLUTION NO. 1635 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the 18th day of September, 1948 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory des- cribed in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim, pursuant to the MAD.. habited Territory Act of 1939, as amended; and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited territory, and said petition contained a description of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said petition is signed by owners of not less than one fourth (1/4) of the area and not less than one fourth (1/4) of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, accord ing to the last preceding equalized assessment roll, and WHEREAS, said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anahei; does not form a part of any municipal corporation and it appears that said territor; is uninhabited, and WHEREAS, the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to -wit; Beginning at a point on the center line of Orangethorpe Avenue, which point is also the quarter section corner on the north line of Section 3, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, also the corner of the present City Limits of the City of Anaheim; thence south along the north and south center line of said Section 3, and along the present City Limits of said City of Anaheim, a distance of 60 feet; thence west, parallel with said center line of Orangethorpe Avenue, to a point on the west line of the east half of the northeast quarter of Section 4, aforesaid township and range; thence north along said west line of the east half of the northeast quarter of said Section 4, a distance of 60 feet to a point on said center line of Orangethorpe Avenue; thence east along said center line of Orangethorpe Avenue to the point of beginning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that such proposed annexation be designated as ORANGETHORPE AVENUE ANNEXATION, and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 that notice of such proposed annexation be and the same is hereby given, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 5th day of October, 1948 at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim be and the same is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause w such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such proposed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to publish or cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least once a week for two successive weeks prior to the 5th day of October, 1948, in the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California. GRIFFITH, City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Anaheim, held on the 18th day of September, 1948 by the following vote of the members thereof: AYES; COUNCILMEN; Pearson, Pace, Haying and Boney. NOES: COUNCILMEN; None. ABSENT; COUNCILMAN: Van Wagoner. And I further certify that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim signed and approved said Resolution on the 18th day of September, 1948.
