RESOLUTION NO. 1603
RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE
WHEREAS, E. R. Morford, as owner of certain real property
situated at 916 -918 North Los Ang4les Street, in the City of
Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described as
Lots 4 and 5, Block 4, Mills Park Tract No. 304, has filed with
the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim, a petition
requesting that a variance be granted permitting the use of the
buildings looated on said real property for the sale of new and
used tires and tubes, and the recapping and repairing of tires,
using eleotrioally operated equipment and for the use of Lot 4
for off- street parking; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from consideration and
investigation of the facts and the report and recommendation of
the City Planning Commission that:
(1) Special circumstances and exceptional conditions do
exist as to the above described real property that do not apply
generally to the property or classes of uses in the same zone or
district;
(2) That a variance is necessary for the preservation and
enjoyment of a substantial property right of said petitioner;
(3) That the granting of such conditional variance will not
be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to the property
or improvements in the district wherein said property is located,
provided the conditions hereinafter set forth are complied with;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, that a conditional variance be, and the same is
hereby granted to E. R. Morford whereby the buildings located on
the hereinabove described real property may be used for the sale
of new and used tires and tubes, and the recapping and repairing
of tires, using electrically operated equipment, and for the use

of Lot 4 for off- street parking, upon the following conditions:
1. That said business shall be operated in accordance with
all laws of the State of California and Ordinances and Regulation
of the City of Anaheim.
2. That the appearance of said real property including all
buildings thereon shall be kept and maintained with a satiafactor
appearance in keeping with the use herein permitted.
3. That the maintenance and operation of said business
shall comply with all requirements of the Chief of the Fire
Department of the City of Anaheim as to safety and fire preventio
4. That the City Council hereby reserves the right to revok
said variance permit for good pause.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this
27th day of April, 1948.

ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Pace.
