RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE
WHEREAS, JEANNE T. MUDGE, as owner of certain real property
located at 937 North Lemon Street in the City of Anaheim, County
of Orange, State of California having filed with the City
Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim, .a petition requesting
that a variance be granted permitting the installation of equipme t
for a one operator beauty shop in the building situated on said
premises; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from consideration and
investigation of the facts that:
(1) Special circumstances and exceptional conditions do
exist as to the above described real property that do not apply
generally to the property or classes of uses in the same zone or
district;
(2) That a variance is necessary for the preservation and
enjoyment of a substantial property right of said petitioner;
(3) That the granting of such conditional variance will not
be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to the property
or improvements in the district wherein said property is located,
provided the conditions hereinafter set forth are complied with:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, that a conditional variance be, and the same is
hereby granted for one year to Jeanne T. Mudge whereby equipment
for a one- operator beauty shop may be inst1.led in the building
located upon the above described real property, upon the
following conditions:
1. That the business shall be operated in accordance with
all laws of the State of California and Ordinances and Regulation
of the City of Anaheim.
2. That the appearance of said real property, including

all buildings and improvements thereon, shall be kept and
maintained with a satisfactory appearance in keeping with the
uses herein permitted and that there shall be no thodifications
of the exterior of the existing etruoture for the purpose of
maintaining the said beauty shop.
3. That only one sign shall be displayed upon the exterior::
of said dwelling, which sign shall be of a size no greater than
one and one —half (l square feet.
4. That the variance herein granted shall be personal to
the aforesaid Jeanne T. Mudge, and shall not be transferred to
any other person:
5. That the maintenance and operation of said business
shall comply with all requirements of the Chief of the Fire
Department of the City of Anaheim as to safety and fire prevention
6. That the City Council hereby reserves the right to revoke
said variance permit for good cause.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this
day of 1948.
