A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM,
CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING A CITY ATTORNEY AND FIXING THE
COMPENSATION OF SAID CITY ATTORNEY, AND APPOINTING JOHN
SHEL AS ACTING CITY ATTORNEY DURING THE PLEASURE OF SAID
CITY COUNCIL.•
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim requires the services of a City Attorney
to advise the City Council and other City Officials on legal matters and to
represent the City of Anaheim in litigations and other legal proceedings and to
perform the duties usually required of a City Attorney, and
WHEREAS, JOHN SHEA appears to this City Council to be an attorney duly
admitted to practice in all of the Courts of the State of California and to be
qualified for this position,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said JOHN SHEA be and he is
hereby appointed to the office of Acting City Attorney of the City of Anaheim
during the pleasure of the City Council. The amount of compensation to be paid
by the City of Anaheim to said Acting City Attorney shall be until further order
of the City Council the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) per month, provided how-
ever, that in addition thereto for extra- ordinary services such as appearances
in the Superior Court or as to commissions established by law, such sums as the
City Council may deem reasonable, the amount thereof to be agreed upon and fixed
at the time of the rendition of such services. Said Acting City Attorney shall
assume the duties of said office as of the 3rd day of February, 1948.
This Resolution passed and adopted this 10th day of February, 1948 at
a regular meeting of said City Council.

Council of the City of Anaheim, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Anaheim held on the 10th day of February, 1948, by the following vote of the
members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Pearson, Pace, Heying, Boney and Van Wagoner.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
And I further certify that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim approved
and signed said Resolution on the 10th day of February, 1948.
