1947-15243 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 and RESOLUTION NO. 1 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING APPROVAL OF ADDITIONS TO THE SYSTEM OF STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE. WHEREAS, certain streets within the City of Anaheim have been designated as Streets of Major Importance by agreement between the City and the Department of Public Works of the State of California; WHEREAS, present industrial development on and adjacent to Olive, Patt and. Commercial Streets include five machine shops, a foundry, a large wire factory, the General Electric Companyrs large plastic plant, four citrus juice and by-products plants, a meat packing plant, a plastic products plant, a gasoline storage plant, a city pumping plant and electric sub-station, and a 36 -unit Federal Housing Project; and WHEREAS, proposed enlargements of some of the existing plants and inquiries received from other manufacturing and processing com- panies for sites indicate that the entire area will soon be occupied by substantial establishments; and WHEREAS, the large volume of heavy truck traffic in and out of the said plants, from and to Los Angeles and the adjoining counties in all directions inland and to the south, is resulting in a greater expense for the improvement and maintenance of the said streets than the City is able to pay for out of its present revenues, and the City Council is desirous of using for the improvement and mainten- ance of the said streets in this industrial area, a portion of the 1/1¢ funds hereafter to be allocated to the City for expenditure on streets of major importance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim, that it apply, and it does hereby apply, to the Depart- ment of Public Works of the State of California, for approval of additions to the system of Streets of Major Importance within said City so as to include therein the following streets or portions of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 streets: Olive Street, from Vermont Avenue to Commercial Street; Patt Street, from La Palma Avenue to Commercial Street; Commercial Street,from Lemon Street to the westerly right -of-- way line of the Union Pacific Railroad Company's main track. The foregoing Resolution is approved and signed by me this 28th day of January, 1947. STATE OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF ORANGE ss. CITY OF ANAHEIM I, CHARLES E.
