RESOLUTION NO. 72R- 114
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND ~UTHORIZING THE EXE-
CUTION OF AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE AND ENTERED
INTO BETWEEN ROBERT E. THaN DOING BUSINESS AS
INTERNATIONAL CITY SECURITY, INC. AND THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM RELATING TO THE DEPUTIZING OF GUARDS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECTING TRAFFIC ENTERING,
LEAVING, AND TRAVERSING THAT PORTION OF BROOK-
HURST STREET WHICH BORDERS THE CIRCLE SEAL
CENTER PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, many employees and visitors of the Circle
Seal Center enter and leave the Circle Seal Center property
in the City of Anaheim by way of Brookhurst Street; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to use International City
Security, Inc. guards to direct traf~ic entering, leaving and
traversing that portion of Brookhurst Street which borders said
Circle Seal Center property, and to have such guards deputized
by the City of Anaheim as officers of the Anaheim Police
Department for the purpose of investing them with adequate and
legal authority to direct traffic at said location; and
WHEREAS, a form of agreement dated March 28, 1972
has this day been submitted to the City Council to be made ~~d
entered into between Robert E. Thon, doing business as Interna-
tional City Security, Inc. and the City of Anaheim providing for
the deputizing of such guards and providing for adequate insurance
coverage to protect the City against all claims for damage or
injury arising by reason of any act, omission or neglect on the
part of said International City Security, Inc. guards; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that said agreement
would be for the benefit and best interest of the City and should
be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the agreement this date submitted to
the City Council, dated March 28, 1972 , to be made and
entered into between the City and Robert E. Thon, doing business
as International City Security, Inc., providing for the deputizing
of guards to direct traffic entering, leaving and traversing
that portion of Brookhurst Street which borders the Circle Seal
Center property at Brookhurst Street and La Palma Avenue, in the
City of Anaheim, upon the terms and conditions therein set forth,
be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
