ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA TeLErnane 3456 RESOLUTION NO, 1431 A RESOLUTION GRANTING TO CALTONE CORPORATION A SETTLING BASIN PERMIT. WHEREAS, Caltone Corporation has applied to the City Counr cil of the City of Anaheim for a Settling Basin Permit to establish maintain and operate certain settling basins upon its property at the location hereinafter described, and WHEREAS, said City Council has examined said application and made investigation thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM: 1. That said City Council finds: (a) That no odor nuisance is likely to result from the estab- lishment, maintenance and operation of said basins; (b) That such basins are not likely to become breeding or gathering places for insects; (c) That no nuisance or objectionable condition is likely to result from the establishment, maintenance and operation of such basins; 2. That Caltone Corporation is hereby granted a Basin Permit to establish, maintain and operate settling basins upon its property at the following locations: Southeast of its present plant and about 350 feet South of Commercial Street and 400 feet East of Lemon Street in the City of Anaheim. This permit is granted upon the following conditions: (a) Four basins, each 50 feet by 100 feet, shall be estab- lished, maintained and operated at the above described location; (b) Said basins shall be excavated to a stratum of good sand, and shall be constructed in a manner satisfactory to the City Engi- neer; (c) Said basins shall be used for the purposes of discharging therein "clear cooling water" and water used in washing down floors tanks and equipment of said plant carrying about z of 1% of solids, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 9 10 basins and appurtenances thereto as will prevent any other nuisance 11;- or objectionable condition arising. 12 (g) All wastes discharged into said basins shall be screened 13 before flowing into or being placed in said basins by the use of a 14 screen or system of screens of a type satisfactory to the City 15 Engineer. 16 (h) That said basins shall be established, maintained and 17 operated in accordance with the provisions and conditions of this 18 permit and in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 667 19 of the City of Anaheim, and in accordance with other ordinances of 20 21 22 1'I and for no other purposes; 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 FRIIS be SCHUTZ ArTDRNBIS AT LAm 402'404 SANK OF A14WICA BLDG. ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA TaeenoR 3456 (d) No other types of water or other substances shall be dis-} charged into or placed in said basins without application to and consent by said City Council. (e) Permittee shall chemically treat water discharged into said basins, at such times, to such extent and in such manner as 1 will prevent said basins from becoming an odor nuisance or a breed -I 8 ing or gathering place for insects. (f) Permittee shall so establish, maintain and operate said the City of Anaheim, and of the laws and regulations of the State of California, and of the United States, and of any officer, com- mission or agency of the State of California or of the United StatO In the event that Caltone Corporation, permittee herein, should at any time violate any of the aforesaid conditions upon which this permit is granted, then the City Council of the City of Anaheim may revoke this permit or require further conditions to be imposed upon permittee after public hearing as provided in said Ordinance No. 667.
