1944-1369RESOLUTION NO. 1369 WHEREAS, the highways of Northern Orange County are carrying an increasingly large amount of traffic, and WHEREAS, northern Orange County possesses numerous centers of population which increase traffic hazards, and WHEREAS, a great number of traffic accidents are occurring at present in northern Orange County, and WAS, there is no ambulance service in northern Orange County, and by reason of such lack, it is necessary to apply to firms in Santa Ana for such service, which circumstance has resulted in delays which have endangered the lives of many persons, and WHEREAS, the people of northern Orange County who have seen victims of accidents lie in the streets for comparatively long periods of time awaiting facilities to carry them to a hospital, and WHEREAS, the people of northern Orange County maintain that the lives of injured persons in that area are as precious as those injured in central Orange County, and WHEREAS, a great many of the accidents in northern Orange County take place in unincorporated areas, where the need for immediate assistance is as great as in municipalities, and WHEREAS, there is a need for the establishment of an ambulance service in northern Orange County, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, that the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, take immediate steps to establish an ambulance service in northern Orange County.
