RESOLUTION NO. 1357
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM RELATIVE TO
WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR VOLUNTEER CIVILIAN DEFENSE
WORKERS
WHEREAS, Section 1596 of the Military and Veterans Code,
Chapter 920, Statutes of 1943, nrovides:
"The California State War Council shall establish
rule and regulation various classes of civilian defense
workers and the scope of the duties of each class. The
California State War Council shall also adopt rules and
regulations prescribing the manner in which civilian de-
fense workers of each class are to be registered. All
such rules and regulations shall be designed to facili-
tate the paying of workmen's compensation.", and
WHEREAS, the California State War Council on 7 Qctober,
1943, adopted rules and regulations establishing classes of civilia
defense workers, the scope of the duties of each class and the
manner of registration of such workers, and
WHEREAS, Section 1597 of the Military and Veterans Code,.
Chapter 920, Statutes of 1943, provides:
"Any civilian defense organization which both agrees
to follow the rules and regulations established by the
California State War Council pursuant to the provisions
of Section 1596 of this code and substantially complies
with such rules and regulations shall be certified by
the California State War Council. Upon making the
certification, and not before, the civilian defense
organization becomes an accredited civilian defense
organization.", and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has registered and will
hereafter register civilian defense workers for participation in
either civilian protective services or civilian war services, and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to become and

accredited civilian defense organization" in order that injured
civilian defense workers registered with it may benefit by the
provisions of Chapter 920, Statutes 1943,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that said City Council of the City of Anaheim
hereby agrees to follow the rules and regulations established by
the California State War Council under date of 7 October, 1943,
pursuant to the provisions of Section 1596 of the Military and
Veterans Code, Chapter 920, Statutes of 1943. The city clerk is
hereby instructed to send two certified copies hereof to the
California State War Council.
The foregoing resolution is signed and approved by me
this 16th day of November, 1943.
