WHEREAS, the California State Council of Defense through its sub-committee on Water Supply has caused the State of California to be subdivided into zones for the pur- of promoting mutual aid among water works operators in the event of a serious disaster in order that the war effort may be furthered, said mutual aid to include the inter-exchange of the use of available material, equipment, trained personnel, and emergency water supply where- ever feasible, and WHEREAS, there are many and various water companies both private and public water districts, water works districts and other Political subdivisions and agencies in the County of Orange having on hand or at their disposal certain materials which might be desirable, necessary and useable by another individual, district, corporation or political subdivision in order that the water supply, both for domestic and irrigation purposes in the County of Orange be continued during the national emergency, and WHEREAS, it cannot now be determined the exact material needed by any person, firm, corporation, district or political subdivision nor can due compensation for said need now be deter- mined for the value of said material in the future. 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF 2 THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that the City of Anaheim does by these 3 presents stand ready, able and willing at all times during this 4 emergency to supply mutual aid as defined above to whatever extent 5 is possible, for the use of any person, firm or corporation, 61 district or political subdivision needing said mutual aid as a 7 direct result of damage caused by a major disaster in order that 8 the water supply in the County of Orange and immediate adjacent 9 areas may not become disrupted to the detriment of the inhabitants 10 thereof. 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 pursuant to Chapter I of the First Extra-Ordinary Legislative 24 Session of the Year 1941-42 and in furtherance of the war effort. 25 The foregoing resolution is signed and approved by me 26 this 8th day of December, 1942. 27 28 29 30 31 Ci y C erk of the of Anaheim 32 FMIS&SUIVR ATTORNEYS 0.T LAW 40Z-404 BANK Of AMERICA BLDG. ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA TELEPHONE 3456 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that when requested by the Civilian Defense Council of the County of Orange through its duly authorized agent or representative, the Superintendent of Light, Power and Water of the City of Anaheim is hereby authorized at his discretion, to deliver or otherwise release for use to any person, firm, corporation, district or political subdivision in need of said mutual aid in order to maintain a sufficient flow of water for the preservation of life and property, and that compensation for said mutual aid shall be later determined and passed upon as to the reasonable value thereof or the replacement in kind thereof as may then be mutually agreed.
