2000-009RESOLUTION NO. 2000R-9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DESIGNATING PORTIONS OF BLOSSOM LANE AND BURTON STREET WESTERLY OF ACACIA STREET AS ~PERMIT PARKING ONLY" STREETS WHEREAS, Section 14.32.450 of Chapter 14.32 of Title 14 of the Anaheim Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to, by resolution, designate any streets, or portions thereof, as "Permit Parking Only" streets; and, WHEREAS, a petition containing signatures of in excess of seventy-five percent of the property owner has been submitted to the City; and, WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that it is feasible to enforce a "Permit Parking Only" restriction in the area hereinafter described; and, WHEREAS, a shortage of reasonably available and con- venient residentially-related parking spaces exists in the area; and, WHEREAS, no unreasonable displacement of commuter vehicles into surrounding residential areas will result if this restriction is imposed; and, WHEREAS, no alternative solution to the parking problems in this area is feasible or practical; and, WHEREAS, due to parking congestion on those streets hereinafter set forth, the City Council hereby finds and determines that parking on those street should be limited to persons possessing permits; and, WHEREAS, the establishment of a "Permit Parking Only" area on the streets hereinafter set forth is necessary to enhance the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the area, the users of the public streets and the public at large. II II II II II II II II II II NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim, that parking on the following City streets shall be limited to those persons possessing a properly displayed permit to park: Permit Parkino Area No. 9. The following streets, or portions thereof, are hereby designated as Permit Parking Area No. 9 for which a properly displayed valid parking permit shall be required to park: The north and south sides of Blossom Lane extending westerly from Acacia Street to a point approximately six hundred thirty feet westerly thereof. The north side of Burton Street extending westerly from Acacia Street to a point approx- imately six hundred thirty feet westerly thereof. The south side of Burton Street extending from Acacia Street to the westerly terminus thereof. Nothing contained in this resolution shall be construed to authorize parking or stopping where such parking or stopping is otherwise prohibited.
