MPMR P -1 Page 2 (c) The measured maximum demand in any month shall be the average horsepower input (746 watts equivalent) indicated or recorded by instruments to be supplied, owned and maintained by the City at the City's expense upon the consumer's premises, adjacent to watt -hour teeter, in the 15- minute interval in which the consumption of electrical energy is greater gran in any other 15- .minute interval in the month, or, at the option of the City, the measured maximum demand may be determined by test. In case of connected loads of 500 H.P. or over, or in case a record- ing meter is installed, the City may base the consumer's maximum demand upon a 30- ninute instead of a 15- minute interval. In case of hoists, elevators, welding machines, furnaces and other installations where the ener 7 demand is inter- mittent, or subject to violent fluctuations, the measured maximum demand may be based upon a 5- minute interval. (d) Any consumer may obtain the rate for a larger Billing Horsepower by guaranteeing the rate and minimum charge applicable to the larger Billin Horsepower. (e) Any measured demand occuring between the hours of 10:00 P.9. and 6:00 A.M. of the following day will not be considered in computing charges under the schedule, provided the Billing Horsepower shall not be less than 250 H.P. (f) lihenever, upon test, any motor is found to be delivering more than 125ok of its capacity as indicated by its name plate rating, the City may disregard the name plate rating and base its charges upon the actual output as calculated from test. (g) on application by the consumer, where the Billing Horse - power in any month is not less than 250 H.P. and when the kilowatt -hours consumed in that month exceed the lagging reactive kilovolt- ampere hours used in the month, a power factor discount will be made in that month on such excess kilowatt -hours at a rate of eight- tenths (0.8) of a mill per kilowatt -hour. Such discount in any month shall not exceed ten (10) per cent of the total bill for the month before a>plying discount. The total bill after applying discount shall not be less than the :minimum charge. A ratchet device will be installed on the reactive kilovolt - ampere hour meter to prevent its reverse operation on leading bower factors. (c) Permit will be issued at the office of the Light and power Department and shall be available for inspection uypon demand by any authorized employee of the Department.
