05/19/1936-011M 1 RESOLUTION 2 ` '41iEREAS, the City of Los Angeles has filed a petition for a 3 writ of mandate in the Supreme Court of the State of California, 4 in which Ray L. Riley, as Controller of the State of California; 5 Charles G. Johnson, as Treasurer of the State of California; Ray 6 Ingles, as Director of Motor Vehicles of the Department of Motor 7 Vehicles of the State of California; and the Departmenu- of Motor 8 Vehicles of the State of California are respondents, and, 9 WHEREAS, by said petition, it is sought to obtain a writ of 10 mandate requiring said respondents to pay to the City of Los 11 Angeles the proportion of taxes collected by the State of Cal - 12 ifornia to which the City of Los Angeles is entitled under the 13 provisions of Chapter 362, Statutes of 1935, and, 14 WHEREAS, all the cities in the State of California, and par - 15 titularly the City of Anaheim, are vitally interested in the 16 proper determination of said petition, and, 17 WHEREAS, it is thought advisable that all cities should co- 18 operate in the determination of said mandate, and it appearing 19 to the City Council of the City of Anaheim to be to the benefit 20 of the City of Anaheim that said petition be determined as prayed 21 for, 22 NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim co- 23 operate with the City of Los Angeles in the presentation of said 24 case before the Supreme Court, and that the City Attorney for the 25 City of Anaheim be and he is authorized and directed to join with 26 the City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles, and render such 27 assistance as he may give the City of Los Angeles in said action, 28 end that he be and is hereby authorized to appear in said action 29 in behalf of the City of Anaheim as a friend of the Court in 30 said matter, 31 32 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 The foregoing resolution is signed and approved by me this Y day of May, 1936.
