RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM.

WHEREAS, this Council is informed that the City of
Long Beach is contemplating acquiring property in the County of
Orange for the purpose of developing water thereon and con-
templates transporting water developed on said land out of the
County of Orange into the City of Long Beach for the use of its
inhab it ant s; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it of the utmost
importance to the citizens of Anaheim and Orange County that the
water produced and developed in the Santa Ana River Valley or
Basin be kept for use in and upon the land lying within said
Basin, and that development of the County of Orange requires the
use of all waters developed within the Santa Ana River Basin,
and that the diversion of any of said waters from said Basin
would be highly detrimental to the interest of Orange County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that this Council go on record as opposed
to the action of the City of Long Beach in acquiring or attempts:
to acquire property located in Orange County for the purpose of
diverting water to the 'City - of Long Beach, and that this
City Council notify the officials of Long Beach that any action
on the part of the said City of Long Beach directed toward
diverting said water will be resented by the City of Anaheim,
and that the City of Anaheim will take such steps to prevent such
diversion of said water as shall be necessary to protect the
interests of the City of Anaheim and the citizens of Orange
County.
The foregoing Resolution is approved by me this
