08/09/1928-013IN THE MATTER OF TREE PLANTING On Cherry, Chestnut, Cypress, Diamond, Elm, Indiana, Illinois, Oak, Ohio, Pearl, Santa Ana, South, Third South, Thalia, West and Walnut Streets, and on Crone, Carleton, Damon, Ellsworth, Pythias, Stueckle and Valencia Avenues, in the City of Anaheim, RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 214 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM: Section 1: That the public interest and convenience 4i re— gire, and that it is the intention of the City Council of the ty of Anaheim to order the following work and improvement to be made in said city, to —wit: That trees be planted in the parkways of the following streets or portions of streets: (a) On the easterly side of Cherry Street from the north" erly line of Broadway to a line parallel therewith and distant 232.58 feet northwardly therefrom; and on the westerly side of Cherry Street from Broadway to Center Street; (b) On both sides of Chestnut Street from Helena Street to the westerly end of said Chestnut Street at the property of the Fremont School; and on both sides of Chestnut Street from West Street to Walnut Street; (o) On the northerly side of West Cypress Street from Illinois Street to West Street; (d) On both sides of Diamond Street from West Street to the westerly end of said Diamond Street; (e) On both sides of Elm Street from Lemon Street to Palm Street; (f) On both sides of Indiana Street from Broadway to Water Street; (g) On both sides of North and South Illinois Streets from Broadway to the first alley North of Center Street; on the westerly side of North Illinois ®treet.from Cypress Street to the northerly end of said Illinois Street; and on both of South Illinois Street from the first alley south of Broadway to Water Street; (h) On both sides of Oak Street from Helena Street to Palm Street; (i) On both sides of South Ohio Street from Center Street to Water Street; and on the westerly side of North Ohio Street from Center Street to the northerly end of said Ohio Street; —1— (j) On both sides of Pearl Street from West Street to the westerly end of said Pearl street; (k) On the northerly side of East Santa Ana Street from Orange Street to Rose Street; and on both sides of West Santa Ana Street from Citron Street to West Street; (1) On both sides Street to Olive Street; South Street from Los Anj } of Lemon Street and from (m) On both sides Street to Helena Street; of East South Street from Los Angeles and on the northerly side of West �eles Street to the first alley east Dickel Street to Palm Street; of Third South Street from Clementine (n) On the easterly side of North Thalia Street from Center Street to Lincoln Avenue; On the westerly side of North Thalia Street from the northerly line of Center Street to a line parallel therewith and distant 88.75 feet northerly there- from; and on both sides of South Thalia Street from Center Street to Broadway; (o) On the easterly side of North 'West Street from Center Street to Cypress Street; on the westerly side of North West Street from Lincoln Avenue to Pearl Street; on both sides of South West Streetr1rom Center Street to Broadway; and on the easterly side of South West Street from Broadway to Water Street; (p) On both sides of Walnut Street from Center Street to Broadway; and on the westerly side of Walnut Street from Broadway to the northerly right -of -way line of the Southern Pacific Company, and from Damon Avenue to Crone Avenue; (q) On the northerly side of Crone Avenue from 'Walnut Street to the easterly right -of -way line of the Southern Pacific Company; (r) On both sides of Carleton Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to the northerly end of said Carleton Avenue; (s) Oh both sides of Damon Avenue from Walnut Street to the westerly line of Pkthias Avenue; (t) On both sides of Ellsworth Avenue from Los Angeles Street to the easterly end of said Ellsworth Avenue; (u) On both sides of Pythias Avenue from Crone Avenue to the northerly line of Damon Avenue; (v) On both sides of Stueckle Avenue from Los Angeles Street to Lemon Street; (w) And on both sides of Valencia Avenue from Los Angeles Street to Olive Street. Section 2: That said trees, after planting, shall be under the care of the City of Anaheim for a period of three years. Section 3: That the pr&posed improvements mentioned in Section 1 hereof are hereby referred to the Planning Commission -2.. of said City, and said Planning Commission is hereby directed to make and file with the Clerk of the City of Anaheim a report in writing, presenting the following: (a) Plans and specifications for the work to be performed, and the general method or manner of making the improvement. (bj An estimate of the cost of said improvement, and of the incidental expenses in connection therewith. (c) A diagram of the property affected or benefited by the proposed work or improvement, which diagram shall show each separate lot, piece or parcel of land, and the relative location of the same to the work proposed to be done, all within the limits of the assessment district, each of which lots, pieces or sub- division of land shall be given a separate number, in red ink upon said diagram. (d) The proposed assessment of the total amount of the costs and eigpence of the proposed improvement (including all in cidental expenses upon the lots, parts of lots, and lands within said assessment district as shown by said diagram, sufficient to cover the total expenses of the improvement. Each of said lots, parts'of lots, and lands shall be separately assessed in propor- tion to the estimated benefits to be received by it. Said as- sessment shall refer to said lots, parts of lots and lands upon said diagram by the respective red ink numbers thereof, and shall show the names of the owners, if known, otherwise designating them as unknown. Section 4: That all of said work and improvement shall be made and the assessment therefor shall be levied pursuant to the provisions of Act 8216 of the legislature of the Stagte of Calif- ornia, designated as the "Tree Planting Act of 1915."
