( --lammE19ft) FIRST--All advertising for the City of Anaheim shall be set in six point or nonpareil type, 12 ems pica wide, standard measure- ment., 12 lines of type to the inch, all matter to be set solid and Z rc W 0 th Z IL M J U W I Z 91 10 11 12 131 14 15 17 181 "19 20 21 22 231 24 25 26 27 1, 28 29 30 31 32 without unnecessary indentation and without the use of leads Or slugs of any description, provided that a narrower column may be used which otherwise conforms with these specifications, provided further, that if a narrower column is used, compensation for such advertising shall be based upon the price of printing the same matter set in six point or non pareil type and 12 ems wide, as herein provided, and all bids for printing must conform to that standard. SECOND--in addition, it is hereby specified that all captions or headings or headlines be set in a gothic or other black-face letter of the same size of the body type used and no "jim"dashes or metal dashes or lead or slugs, excepting a single six-to-pica lead, shall be used to separate the head lines from the body of the advertisement. And it is further specified that date lines in the body of an official advertisement shall not be displayed unless ordered,, in writing, by the officer or the head of the department ordering the advertisement inserted, in which such date lines may appear; THIRD--All advertisements required to be published during a specified period of time shall be published in. each and every issue of the newspaper during said period, unless otherwise ordered. FOURTH--As many copies of each advertisement shall be furnished the City of Anaheim, at the regular selling rate of the copies of the paper, as may be requested at the time advertisement is ordered. SPECIFICATIONS FaR JOB PRINTING FOR THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. Reference is hereby made to specimens of forms on file in the office of the City Manager of the City of Anaheim-as specifications for said forms to be used by the City of Anaheim. Each of the said forms is markdd and designated "Specimen Formff and all futiire forms of like character shall conform thereto in size, color and grade of material used provided that the offic or department of the City of Anaheim, for the use of whom such for are designed, may alter the color thereof shall not involve more (expense in the preparation and printing than the color 'designated I herein. Each bid must be accompanied by a check in the sum of $50.00 payable to the City of Anaheim, to become the property of said City if, within 10 days after the contract is awarded to him the successful bidder shall fail to enter into a contract with the said City to do the printing or advertising for said City in con- iformity to these specifications.
