IN THE MATTER OF INCURRING A BONDED DEBT BY THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR THE FOLLONING PURPOSE: THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COM- PLETION OF A POWER PLAITT FOR SUPPLYING ELECTRICITY FOR SAID CITY AND ITS INHABITANTS FOR PURPOSES OF LIGHT, HEAT AND POWER, CONSIST ING OF EXTENDING AND REMODELING A CERTAIN MUNICIPAL BUILDING IN SAID CITY FOR THE HOUSING OF MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT OF SAID POWER PLANT, THE ACQUISITION AND INSTALLATION OF ENGINES, AND ENGINE AUX ILARIES TO OPERATE ELECTRICAL GENERATORS, AND THE ACQUISITION AND INSTALLATION (V ELECTRIC GENERATORS, EXCITERS, SNITCH BOARDS AND AUXILARIES FOR SUPPLYING ELECTRICITY FOR SAID CITY AND ITS INHABI- TANTS FOR PURPOSES OF LIGHT, HEAT AND POWER. RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DETER- MINING THE RESULT OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITE ON THE 18TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1924. WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim did, by Ordinance No. 457 , of said City, entitled: "An Ordinance calling and providing for and giving notice of a special election to be held in the City of Anaheim, State of California, on Satur- day, the 18th day of October, 1924, the object being to submit to the qualified electors of said city the proposition to incur a bon ded debt by said city for the following purpose: The acquisition, oonstruotion and completion of a power plant for supplying electri- city for said city and its inhabitants for purposes of light ,heat and power, consisting of extending and remodeling a certain munici pal building In said city for the housing of machinery and equip - ment of said power plant, the acquisition and installation of en- gines, and engine auxilaries to operate electrical generators, and the acquisition and installation of electric generators, exciters, switch boards and auxilaries for supplying electricity for said cii and its inhabitants for purposes of light, heat and power," passed and adopted on the 11th day of September, 1924, call and order to be held in said city, a special election on Saturday, the 18th day of October, 1924, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified s electors of the said city, a proposition to incur a bonded indebt- edness by the City of Anaheim to the amount of Two Hundred Forty Thou sand ($240,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of the construction 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 � 13 Z a 14 3 W 15 a�= U z 16 3 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 and completion of a certain municipal improvement by the City of Anaheim, to -wit: The acquisition, construction and completion of a power plant for supplying electricity for said city and its in- habitants for the purposes of light, heat and power, consisting of extending and remodeling a certain municipal building in said city for the housing of machinery and equipment of said peer plant, th acquisition and installation of engines, and engine auxilaries to operate electric generators, and the acquisition and installation of electric generators, exciters, switch boards and auxilaries for supplying electricity for said city and its inhabitants for purpo.- ses of light, heat and power, the estimated cost of which improve- ment being Two Hundred Forty Thousand ($240,000.00) Dollars, in gold coin of the United States of America, said sum of Two Hundred .forty Thousand ($240,000.00) Dollars being the amount of the prin- cipal of the indebtedness to be incurred therefor, the rate of in- be terest t2/paid on said indebtedness not to exceed six (6) per cent per annum, payable semi- annually, the principal and interest of said. indebtedness payable in gold coin of the United States of Ame ric a. WHEREAS, said Ordinance Ho. 457 , calling and ordering said special election was published in the form and manner and for the time required by late, and WHEREAS, it appears that said special election was held in accordance with the law and in accordance with said call, and that the polls at said special election were kept open according to the time required by lase, to -Wit: from seven o'clock A. M. of said day to seven o'clock P. M. of said day, and that said special 'election was held and 'the votes thereat received, canvassed and the returns thereof ascertained, determined and declared in the time, form and manner as required by the laws of the State of Cal- ifornia, and the Ordinances of the City of Anaheim, and (2) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 d 14 W J 15 a > i 16 _a 3�< 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 WHEREAS, on Monday, the 20th day of October, 1924, the Board of Trustees of said City met at their usual place of meet- ing at the hour of seven o clock P. fit, and proceeded to and did canvass the returns of said special election, and the results of said special election have been ascertained and determined. WHEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED,DETERMINED AND DECLARED AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the proposition voted upon at said spec ial election was the proposition hereinafter set forth and was stated as follows: Shall the City of Anaheim incur a bonded debt to the amount of Two Hundred Forty Thousand ($240,000.00) Dollars for the construction and completion of a certain municipal improvement by the City of Anaheim, to -wit: The acquisition, construction and co pletion of a power plant for supplying electricity for said city and its inhabitants for purposes of light, heat and power, consist ing of extending and remodeling a certain municipal building in said city for the housing of machinery and equipment of said power plant, the acquisition and installation of engines, and engine aux i�aries to operate electric generators, and the acquisition and in stallation of electric generators, exciters, switch boards and aux ilaries for supplying electricity for said city and its inhabitant for purposes of light, heat and power. SECTION 2. Anaheim Precinct No. 3, Anaheim Precinct No. 4 and Ana- heim Precinct No. 12, as the same were established by said Board of Supervisors on the 6th day of November, 1923, and the territory! annexed to said City of .Anaheim at a special election held on the 29th day of July, 1924, designated as "Industrial Site Iddition," heretofore particularly described, were consolidated into and con- stituted one voting precinct known as Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" Anaheim Precinct No. 5, Anaheim Precinct No. 6 and Ana- heim Precinct No. 7, as the same were established by said Board of Supervisors on the 6th day of November, 1923, were. consolidated into and constituted one voting precinct known as Consolidated Vot Precinct "C". Anaheim Precinct No. 8, Anaheim Precinct No. 9 and Ana- heim Precinct No. 10, as the sane were established by said Board of Supervisors on the 6th day of November, 1923, were consolidated into and constituted one voting precinct known as Consolidated I Vot ing Precinct "D" . That the number of votes cast in said Consolidated Vot- ing Precinct "D" for said proposition was 187. That the number of votes cast in said Consolidated Vot- ing Precinct "D" against said proposition was 133. That the total number of votes cast in said City at said special municipal election for the proposition last above stated was 626. That the total number of votes cast in said City at sai special municipal election against said proposition was 902, WHEREFORE, it is resolved and declared that the proposi- 1 tion hereinbefore stated failed to receive the requisite number of `votes, to -wit, two- thirds of the qualified electors voting at said ,special election to incur the indebtedness for the purposes herein before specified, and did thereby fail to authorize the incurring of a bonded debt by the City of Anaheim to the amount of and for the purposes stated.
