RESOLUTION NO. 72R-438

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM GRANTING VARIANCE NO. 2408.
WHEREAS, after a request for variance by Standard Oil
of California, Owner; American Permlit Service, Agent, was received,
a public hearing before the Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim was held upon due and prope~ notice as a result of which
Variance No. 2408 was denied covering the following described
property:
Beginning at the centerline intersection of Katella
Avenue and Placentia Avenue, said point being the north-
west corner of Lot 5 of Tract No. 71 in Book 10, page
22 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California, thence South 890 45' 20" East along the
centerline of Katella Avenue 196.00 feet to a point;
thence South 00 07' 50" West 60.00 feet to the true
point of beginning; thence continuing South 00 07' 50"
West 150.00 feet to a point, thence North 890 45' 20"
West 143.00 feet to a point on the East right of way of
Placentia Avenue, thence North 00 07' 50" East parallel
to the centerline of Placentia Avenue 130.00 feet to
an angle point; thence North 450 II' 15" East to a
point on the South right of way of Katella Avenue, thence
South 890 45' 20" East parallel to the center line of
Katella Avenue 123.00 feet to the true point of beginning.
WHEREAS, thereafter, within the time prescribed by law
an interested party or the City Council on its own motion caused
the review of said Planning Commission action at a public hearing
noticed and held as prescribed by law and as a result thereof the
City Council does hereby make the fOllowing findings:
1. That there are special circumstances applicable to
the property, including size, shape, topography,
location or surroundings, which do not apply to
other property under identical zoning classifica-
tion in the vicinity.
2. That, because of special circumstances shown in
(1) above, strict application of the zoning code
deprives the property of privileges enjoyed by
other property under identical zoning classifica-
tion in the vicinity.
NOW, THEREPORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that a conditional zoning variance be, and
the same is hereby granted, permitting the construction of two
lighter box signs and four canopy signs in conjunction with an
existing free standing sign on the property hereinbefore des-
cribed with waivers of the following sections of the Anaheim
Municipal Code:

That said variance be granted subject to the following condition:
That subject property shall be developed substantially
in conformance with plans and specifications on file
with the City of Anaheim, marked Exhibits Nos. 1, 2 and 3.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby
reserves the right to revoke such variance permit for good
cause or failure of said owner, its successors or assigns to
comply with the Anaheim Municipal Code and regulations and the
conditions herein. Said variance is granted for the term
prescribed by the Anaheim Municipal Code unless otherwise speci-
fied herein.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 3rd day of October, 1972.
