01/10/1924-0731 IN THE MATTER OF INSTALLING ORNAMENTAL STREET LIGHTS IF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. 2 j 3 I RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0. � 4 i A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM 5 1, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE INSTALLATION OF ORNAMENTAL STREET LIGHTS ON SOUTH LOS ANGELES STREET IN THE CITY OF ANAHEI 6 Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of 7 Anaheim: 8 Section 1. That the public interest and convenience 9 j require and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees to I of the City of Anaheim to order the following described work to 11 � be done in said City, to -wit: that ornamental street lights be 12 installed on the Easterly side of South Los Angeles Street from 13 the Southerly line of East Broadway produced. Westerly to the 14 Northerly line of East Vermont Avenue produced Westerly, and on 15 the Westerly side of South Los Angeles Street from the Southerly 16 line of West Broadway produced Easterly to the Northerly line 17 of West Vermont Avenue produced Easterly, Excepting therefrom the portion along the Easterly side 19 /So of South Los Angeles Street lying between a lined feet Bout-h- 20 - e-rl-y from the Southerly line of East Santa Ana Street and a line 21 360.91 feet Southerly from said Southerly line of Santa Ana 22 Street. 23 And, whereas, said contemplated work and improvement, 24 in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, is of more than local 25 or ordinary public benefit, said Board hereby makes the expense 26 of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district within 27 said City of Anaheim, which district said Board hereby declares 28 � to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and 29 to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which said 30 district is bounded and described as follows: 31 Beginning at the Northeasterly corner of Lot 1, Block 32 -1- 1 "N ", Center Tract, as shown on a map recorded in Book 14, Page 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 is 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 13, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence Southerly along the ;easterly line of said Lot 1 and said Easterly line extended, to the Northerly line of Lot 1, Konig Subdivision, as shown on a map recorded in Book 6, Page 20, Mis- cellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence Easterly along said Northerly line to the Northeasterly corner of said Lot 1; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Lot and along the Easterly line of Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, of said Konig Subdivision, and along said Easterly line extended to a point 150 feet Southerly from the Southerly line of East Santa Ana Street; thence Westerly parallel to said Southerly line to the Easterly line of South Los Angeles Street; thence Souther- ly along said Easterly line, to its intersection with the North- erly line of Lot 1, Geerdes Subdivision, as shown on a map record ed in Book 8, Page 77, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence Easterly along said. Lloyd Moore Subdivision; thence Easterly along said Northerly line to the Northeasterly corner of said Lot 3; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Lot and along the Easterly line of Lot 4 of said Block and along the Easterly line of Lots 1, 2 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of the Jewett Subdivision, as shown on a map recorded in Book 13, Page 25, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of orange County, California; and. said Easterly line extended to a point 33 feet Northerly from the rnonumented centerline of Vermont Avenue; thence Westerly parallel to said centerline to a point 150 feet Westerly of the Westerly line of South Los Angeles Street; thence Northerly parallel to said 'resterly line of South Los Angeles Street to the Northerly line of West Santa Ana Street; thence Easterly along said Northerly line to the Westerly line of original Build- ing Lot 61, as shown on a map recorded in Book 4,of Deeds, at pages 629 and 630, Records of Los Angeles County, Califania; thence Northerly along the Westerly line of said Lot 61 and along the Westerly line of Original Lot 57 and said Westerly line ex- tended and along the Westerly line of original Lot 53 and 49 to the Southerly line of Iffest Broadway; thence Easterly along said Southerly line and along the Southerly line of East Broadway to -3- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 is 16 17 1.8 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 the place of beginning, excepting therefrom any land within said, boundaries contained which is now a part of any street or alley. Said work shall be done in accordance with the plans and specifications theref6r, which said plans were adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim, by resolution, on the 13th day Of December, 1923, and are numbered 32, sheets Z 8ZA 5, and are marked and designated I'Plan of proposed ornamental light installation on North Los Angeles Street and South Los Angeles Street, East Center street and West Center Street, and Lincoln Avenue, Anaheim, California," and are on filik in the office of the City Engineer of said City, and in accordance with said specifications which were adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim on the 13th day.of December, 1923, and which specifications are marked and designated "Specifications for the installation of ornamental street lights for the City of Anaheim," and are on file in the office of the City Clerk. Section 2. Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, the 31st day of January, 1924, at the hour of .facer., of clock P.iq. , at the chamber of the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim, in the City Hall Building at No. 204 East Center Street, in said City, any and all persons having objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim and. show cause why said proposed. work or improve— ment should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution. Section 3. That said Board of Trustees hereby further determines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assess- ments of $25.00 or over, for the cost and expense of said work and improvement; that said serial bonds shall extend over a perio of nine years from the 2nd day of January next succeeding their date and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupon, on the 2nd day of January every year �after their date, until the whole is paid, and the interest shall Mc 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 q 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 be payable semi- annually, by coupon,. on the 2nd day of January and July, respectively, of each year, at the rate of seven per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of said principal and interest are paid.. Said bonds shall be issued under and. by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of Calif- ornia entitled "An Act to provide for work in and upon streets, avenues, lanes, alleys, courts, places, and sidewalks within municipalities and upon property and rights of way owned by municipalities and for establishing and changing the grades of any such streets, avenues, lanes, alleys, courts, places and sidewalks, and providing for the issuance and payment of street improvement bonds to represent certain assessments for the cost thereof, and providing a method for the payment of such bonds," i approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. Section 4. The Anaheim Daily Herald is hereby designa- ted as the newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City, in which this resolution shall be published.. The City Clerk of the City of Anaheim is hereby direct- ed to publish this resolution by two successive insertions in said newspaper, and to post the same for two days conspicuously on or near the chamber door of the Board of Trustees of said City of Anaheim. The Street Superintendent shall immediately cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated. work or improvement, and in front of all the property liable to be assessed, notice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention , in the manner and form required by law. All the herein proposed work and improvement and all proceedings taken in regard thereto shall be in pursuance of and in accordance with an Act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled "An Act to provide for work in and upon -5- 1 j streets, avenues, lanes, alleys, courts, places and sidewalks 2 within municipalities andupon property and rights of way owned 3 jI by municipalities and for establishing and changing the grades ii 4 I of any such streets, avenues, lanes, alleys, courts, places and 5 II sidewalks, and providing for the issuance and payment of street �i 6 improvement bonds to represent certain assessments for the cost 7 8 9 10 thereof, and providing a method for the payment of such bonds,ff approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. Section 5.
