IN THE MATTER OF LEASING CERTAIN LANDS
OWNED BY THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM TO THE STANDARD OIL
COMPANY FOR
DRILLING OPERATIONS

INHEREAS, the City
of Anaheim
is the owner of certain

i land situated in the County
of Orange,
State of California, and

II more particularly described
as follows.,
to-wit:
6 ;' A portion of Lot Eighteen (18) of ('Anaheim Extension,"
j as shown on a Map of survey made by William Hamel and
7 filed in the office of the County Recorder of Los
Angeles County, California, described. as follows:
8 Beginning at a point on the North line of said Lot
Eighteen (18), eight (8) chains easterly from the
9 Northwest corner of said lot, and running thence
along said North line to the Northeasterly corner
10 thereof; thence South along the East line of said
Lot to a point twelve and one -half (12j) chains
11 ! southerly at a right angle from the Northerly line
of Lot Eighteen (18); thence westerly and parallel
12 �'! with the Southerly line of said Lot to a point eight
I (8) chains easterly from the Westerly line of said
13 Lot; thence Northerly and parallel with the Westerly
line of said Lot, twelve and one -half (12j) chains
14 to point of beginning, containing fifteen and five-
tenths (15.5) acres, more or less.

!, WHEREAS, the Standard Oil Company, a corporation

under the lawsof the State of California, has proposed the
leasing of said land of said City for the purpose of drilling

NOW THEREFORE, it is resolved by the Board of Trustees

of the City of Anaheim that it would be for the benefit, advan-

tage and best interests of the City of Anaheim to enter into a

l lease with said Standard Oil Company,under the terms of which

said Standard Oil Company would be given the right to drill for
oil and other hydrocarbon substances on said land.

Be it further resolved that that certain contract

of lease offered by said company to said City, the form of which

has been approved by the City Attorney, be and the same is here -

by approved, and that the President of the Board of Trustees

and the Clerk of said City be authorized to execute said lease

on behalf of said City.
