TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "NORTH AVD WEST ADDITION" SHALL RE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. Resolved by the Hoard of Trustees of the City of Anahe im: Whereas, on the 11th day of January, 1923, the Roard of Trustees of the City of Anaheim did pass and adopt its Ordinance No. 432, entitled: "An ordinance of the City of Anaheim calling a special election to.be held on Tuesday, the 13th day of February, 1923, in certain unincorporated territory in the County of Orange, State of California, and contiguous to the City of Anaheim, pro- posed to be annexed to said city; providing for the holding of such election and submitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of said City of Anaheim, designat- ing said territory by the name of "Worth and West Addition ", establishing an election precinct and polling place in said territory, appointing the officers of election for said special election, and providing for the publication of notice of said special election," which said Ordinance was on the 11th day of January, 1923, signed and approved by the President of the Roard of Trustees of the ' City of Anaheim, and Whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of said Ordinance and of an Act of the Legislature of the State of Calif- ornia entitled:' "An Act to provide for the alteration of the boundaries of and for the annexation of territory to municipal corporations, for the incorporation of such annexed territory in and as apart thereof, and for the districting, government and municipal control of such annexed territory," approved June 11, 1913, and all acts amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto, notice for the holding; of said special election was given by -1- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 publication of such notice once a week for four successive weeks in "The Fullerton 'News ", a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated within the County of grange, and outside of the limits of the City of Anaheim, which notice set forth the time and the location of the polling place for the holding of said election, the election officers appointed to con- duct the same, the proposition to be voted on, and described the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, and Whereas, on Tuesday, the 13th day of February, 1923, within the territory so described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, the boundaries of which territory are herein- after described, there was held a special election for the purpose of voting upon said proposition, to -wit: "Shall forth and West Addition be annexed to the City of Anaheim," and Whereas, for the purpose of holding and conducting such election, one voting precinct was established in said territory where such election was held, which said precinct was designated and denominated as "Special Election Precinct No. l," and the polling place in said Special Election Precinct No. 1 was at the dwelling house of C. Z. Vanderhorck, on the northwest corner of North Palm Street and West North Street, and Whereas, the polls at said election were opened for and during the time required by law and were opened at six o'clock A. M. on the said day of election, to -wit: on"Tuesday, the 13th day of February, 1923, and were kept open until seven o'clock P. M. of said day, when the same were closed, and Whereas, following the holding of said special election the Inspector thereof delivered to the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim the returns of said special election, which said election returns have been presented to the 'Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim for its canvass, and which said returns have by the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim been examined and can- -2- 1 2 3 4 5 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 vassed, Now, Therefore, the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim does find and resolve as follows: That at said special election the total number of votes cast was 3 U ; that there were V? votes cast at such special election in favor of the annexation of said territory, and there were votes cast thereat against the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim, and that the votes cast at said special election in favor of the annexation of said territory to said City of Anaheim constitute a majority of all of the votes cast at said special election, and it appearing to said Board of Trustees that said election was valid and regularly held, the. said 'Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim does hereby declare that by vote the qualified elect ors of said territory hereinafter described have voted in favor of, and to annex to the City of Anaheim, the said territory, which is described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the point of intersection of the monumented center { line of Borth Palm Street and the northerly line of Rest North Street, extended westerly across said forth Palm Street, as shown on a map of Anaheim Extension, made by Wm. Hammel and filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, State of California; thence northerly along the said center line of forth Palm Street and its extension northerly to its inter- section with the east line of Section Four (4), Township Four (4) South, Range Ten (10) West, S. R. B. & M.; thence northerly along said section line to its intersection with the center line of the California State Highway; tbâ–ºence southeasterly along the said center line of the California State Highway to its intersection with the extended center line of Parry Avenue, as shown on a map of the Mary Goodman Tract recorded in Rook Seven (7), Page Twenty - one (21), Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, Calif- ornia; thence northerly along the said center line of Parry Avenue 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 one hundred sixty -two and five- tenths (162.5) feet to its inter- section with the northerly line, extended westerly, of a certain alley shown on a map of the Hart Subdivision, recorded in Kook Seven (7), Page Twenty (20), 'Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Grange County, California; thence southeasterly along the northerly line of said alley and its. extension westerly and easterly to its intersection with the center line of North Lemon Street; thence northerly along said center line to the southeasterly corner of Lot Five (5), Miles Rancho, as shown on a map recorded in Book 4, Page 7, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence vest along the south line of said Lot Five (5) and along the south line of Lot Six (6) and Lot Seven (7) of said Miles Rancho to the easterly limits of the City of Orangethorpe, as shown of record in Rook 15, Page 361, of Supervisor's Minute Book, of the Board of Supervisors of Grange County, California; thence south along the easterly limits of said City of Orange- thorpe to the south line of said city; thence west along said Youth line to its intersection with the extended east line of the west one - fourth of Section Nine (9), Township Four (4) South, Range Ten (10) West, S. R. B. & M.; thence south along said ex- tended east line and along said east line to its intersection with the northerly line of the Anaheim Homestead Tract as shown on a map recorded in Book 26, Page 10, 'Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence easterly along said north- erly line of the Anaheim. Homestead Tract to its intersection with the north and south center line of Section 9 Township Four (4) South, Range Ten (10) West, 3. R. R. & M.; thence south along said center line to its intersection with the northerly city limits of the City of Anaheim; thence easterly along said norther- ly city limits of the City of Anaheim to the place of beginning. The City Clerk of the City of .Anaheim is hereby directed to enter upon the minutes of the meeting of said Roard at which -4- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 this resolution is adopted a record of the canvass of the votes cast at said special election, stating the proposition submitted at said special election and showing the whole number of votes cast at said special election, the number of votes cast in favor of such annexation of said territory herein described to the City of Anaheim, and the number of votes cast against such annexation.
