10/19/1922-011RES o of WHEREAS, there will be presented to the voters of the State of California on November 7th, 1922, three proposed Constitutional amendments, to -wit: Propositions Nos. 10, 11 and 30 on the ballot, as follows: Proposition No 10, designed to place a tax upon all property owned by municipalities and used in connection with public utilities operated by such munioipalities; Proposition No. 11, which proposes to take away from cities the power to determine rates and regulate their own municipal' owned public utili- ties, and -to place them under the cor±glete control - both as to rates and regulation - of the State Rail- road Commission; Proposition No. 30, which proposes to take away from the cities the power to control their own streets, and'to give to the State Railroad Commission exclusive power to grant franchises, unlimited as to time, for interurban or locp.l street railways or bus lines over any and all of the streets of the cities, depriving' cities of a'.1 voice in the determination of such matters; and, WHEREAS, the adoption of any of these proposed amendments would be disastrous to the municipalities and to the best interests of the people therein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council (or $oard of 'True es) of the City of is upalterably opposed to each and every one of the said pro- posed Constitutional Amendments,'to -wit, Propositions Nos. 10, 11 and 30, and urges the citizens of this municipality to vote NO on each of said propositions, and to do all in their power to defeat them, and thus protect the public interests.
