A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHED1 REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FIN-
ANCING PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGHWAY L~PROVEMENT
PROJECTS. (1973-1974)
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve the
following streets:
Nohl Ranch Road from Imperial Highway to Anaheim
Hills Road
Sunkist Street from Lincoln Avenue to South Street
Ball Road from West Street to Euclid Street
Brookhurst Street from Lincoln Avenue to Ball Road
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important
arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest;
and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division
2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appro-
priate action, provide in the County Budget of the Special Road
Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1973-1974 a sum of money
for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities
of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial
Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests, and it
does hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange to allocate to the City of Anaheim, from County funds,
the amounts set forth below, said amounts to be matched by funds
from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement
of the streets set forth herein and for the acquisition of neces-
sary rights-of-way; said improvements and acquisition of rights-
Of-way and the specific amounts in connection with each project
are as set forth below:
$45,000. Nohl Ranch Road from Imperial Highway to
Anaheim Hills Road

This project consists of construction of two
(2) travel lanes as an initial project, and
will complete the paving of Nohl Ranch Road
throughout its length.
$66,500. Sunkist Street from Lincoln Avenue to South
Street
This project will consist of widening to four
(4) travel lanes, traffic signal and modifica-
tion right-of-way acquisition and appurtenant
work.

$77,500. Ball Road from West Street to Euclid Street
This project will consist of widening Ball
Road to four (4) travel lanes and a continuous
left-turn lane, capping as required, signal
- modification, drainage facilities, right-of-
way acquisition and appurtenant work.
$149,600. Brookhurst Street from Lincoln Avenue to Ball
Road
This project consists of widening to six (6)
travel lanes with a continuous left-turn lane,
capping entire street as required, traffic
signal relocation andlor mOdification, construc-
tion of a storm drain and appurtenant work and
engineering.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
works and acquisition of rights-of-way as set forth above are
in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that
the City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the
Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its
share of the cost of improvements and rights-of-way will be
available for the fiscal year 1973-1974.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directed to forward a certified
copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange
County, California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor
and Road Commissioner at 400 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana,
California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 19th day of December, 1972.
