intention to award a franchise granting the afc~z'esaid rights
and privileges to the highest bidder in the following !cords to-wit

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the City
of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of Californi# has received
application far a franchise to construct and maintain irrigating
ditches on certain streets, and alleys within the corpo.rat~e~

fifty years, and that it is proposed to grant the same to the
highest bidder; and that the said Board of Trustees will on the
twenty third dsy of Jztn,e I888, at eight o' clock P.A!I. meet in the
City Hall in the City of Anaheim, in open session i'or the pu~ose
of npenin~; sealed proposals for the purchase of a franchise of the
