A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF AN AGREEMENT PE~TAINING TO RESEARCH OF
SUPPRESSION OF THEro1AL AND FUEL NITRIC OXIDE
PRODUCTION BETWEEN THE CtTY OF ANAHEIM, AS A
MEMBER OF WEST ASSOCIATES, AND PACIFIC POWER
LIGHT COMPANY, AND AUTHORIZING THE UTILITIES
DIRECTOR OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM TO EXECUTE
SAID AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is a member of West
Associates, an unincorporated New Mexico Association; and
WHEREAS, the members of West Associates desire to
sponsor research and development work through Pacific Power
and Light Company regarding suppression of thermal and fuel
nitric oxide production in pulverized, coal-fired furnaces;
and
WHEREAS, said research is being accomplished pur-
suant to an agreement between Pacific Power and Light Com-
pany and Washington State University; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim deems it in the best
interests of the City of Anaheim to partially fund said
research through its membership in West Associates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of ' the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of an
agreement between the City of Anaheim as a member of. West
Associates, and Pacific Power and Light Company be, and ~he
same are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTlillR RESOLVED that the utilities Director
of the City of Anaheim is authorized to execute said agree-
ment by and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
