RESOLUTION NO. 73R ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~mNAGER TO
MAKE APPLICATIONS FOR DISABILITY RETIREMENT OF
LOCAL SAFETY MEMBER EMPLOYEES AND TO INITIATE
REQUESTS FOR REINSTATErlliNT OF EMPLOYEES
RETIRED FOR DISABILITY AND TO DELEGATE SUCH
AUTHORIZATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is a contracting
agency of the Public Employees' Retirement System; and
WHEREAS,the Public Employees' Retirement Law,
Government Code, Section 21023.6, requires that a contracting
agency determine whether an employee of such agency in employ-
ment in which he is classified as a local safety member is
disabled for purposes of the Public Employees' Retirement Law
and whether such disability is "industrialll within the mean-
ing of such law; and
vffiEREAS, the Charter of the City of Anaheim
authorizes the incumbent of the office of City Manager to make
such determinations.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that such incumbent of
the office of City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to
make applications on behalf of the Agency for disability retire-
ment of employees in employment in which they are local safety
members, to initiate requests for reinstatement of such ~mployees
who are retired for disability, to certify determinations and all
other necessary information to the Public Employees' Retirement
System; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such incumbent of the
office of City Manager may delegate, in writing, the authoriza-
tion to make applications on behalf of the Agency for disability
retirement of such local safety member employees, to initiate
requests for reinstatement of such employees who are retired for
disability, to certify determinations and all other necessary
information to the Public Employees' Retirement System.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 27th day of November , 1973.
