RESOLUTION NO. 73R-553
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF lU~AHEIM GRANTING VARIANCE NO. 2551.
WHEREAS, after a request for variance by Joe and
Barbara E. Lang, owners, was received, a public hearing
before the Planning Commission of theCitv of Anaheim was
held upon due and proper notice as a result of which Variance
No. 2551 was denied, covering the following described property:
The Southerly 222 feet of Lot 16 of Tract No. 4703,
as shown on a Map thereof, recorded in book 169,
pages 25 and 26 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
said County, lying Southerly of the Northerly 143.00
feet of said Lot 16.
WHEREAS, thereafter, within the time prescribed by
law an interested party or the City Council on its own motion
caused the review of said Planning Commission action at a public
hearing noticed and held as prescribed by law and as a result
thereof the City Council does hereby make the following find-
ings:
1. That there are special circumstances applicable to
the property, including size, shape, topography,
location or surroundings, which do not apply to
other property under identical zoning classifica-
tion in the vicinity.
2. That, because of special circumstances shown in
(1) above, strict application of the zoning code
deprives the property of privileges enjoyed by
other property under identical zoning classifica-
tion in the vicinity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim, that a conditional zoning variance be,
and the same is hereby granted permitting a public dance hall on
the aforedescribed property with a waiver of the following
Section of the Anaheim Municipal Code:
SECTION 18.52.020 - Permitted uses (Dance Hall not permitted
in an M-l Zone; Dance Hall proposed in
an .t1-l Zone).
That said variance be granted subject to the following conditions:
1. That the existing structure shall be brought up to
the minimum standards of the City of Anaheim, including the
Uniform Building, plumbing, Electrical, Housing, Mechanical and
Power Codes as adopted by the City of Anaheim.
2. That subject property shall be developed substan-
tially in accordance with plans and soecifications on file with
the City of Anaheim marked Exhibits Nos. 1, 2 and 3.

3. That the use granted by this variance is in
conjunction with the pizza and billiard parlor with on-sale
beer granted under Variance No. 1869.
4. That said variance is granted for a period of
one year subject to review and consideration for an extended
period of time.
5. That Conditions Nos. 1 and 2, above mentioned,
shall be complied with prior to the commencement of the activity
authorized under this resolution or prior to the time that the
building permit is issued or within a period of one year from
date hereof whichever occurs first or such further time as the
City Council may grant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby
reserves the right to revoke such variance permit for good cause
or failure of said owners, their heirs, successors or assigns to
comply with the Anaheim Municipal Code and regulations and the
conditions herein. Said variance is aranted for the term
prescribed by the Anaheim Municipal Code unless otherwise speci-
fied herein.
